🎣 NEWS: Portage River Fishing Access to Close for Resurfacing Project
📍 PORT CLINTON, Ohio – The Portage River Fishing Access will close for a resurfacing project Monday, Sept. 9 to Friday, Sept. 13, The area will re-open the following weekend.
The Portage River Fishing Access is located about 2 miles west of Port Clinton off of State Route 163. The parking lot, ramp, and access road of the Portage River Fishing Access will be resurfaced using funds from the ODNR and Ohio Department of Transportation joint Roadway Maintenance Program. Through this cooperative agreement, ODOT provides funding, design, and construction administration services to complete roadway improvements at ODNR owned facilities.
Nearby locations to launch a boat during the resurfacing include the Mazurik Lake Erie Access (8957 N. Shore Blvd, Lakeside Marblehead, 43440) or Catawba Island State Park (4049 E. Moore’s Dock Rd, Port Clinton, 43452).
