Search and Salvage peoples...NOW is time to check in for 2023. Don't miss the boat...so to speak. 🙂
If you want to spend your summer with us, either in person or in spirit... I need to hear from you!
I am in the early stages of planning a shipwreck salvage archaeology project for this fall. It will be a couple of weeks in shallow, clear water somewhere south of here - more than 100 miles, less than 600. No passports needed at this time. All legal permits to explore the area are in place. There is a very strong possibility of coins being found and recovered. This will be conducted to the same high standards as the 1715 Fleet salvage with log sheets, GPS fixes recorded on every artifact, in situ video and stills if possible and all recoveries bagged, tagged, photographed etc.
The financial structure will be the same as I have done in the past, and financial participants are invited to work along with the crew.
More details later, but if you are interested in being a part of this, send me a message or an email.
If this expedition proves to be a success, I plan on doing this more often...1 to 2 week trips to either conduct or assist with a shipwreck project or do some on-site research with some folks who would like to be a part of the adventure.
Keep it in mind...it's got to be more fun than...well...almost anything.
Hi folks! I hope everyone is having a great weekend.
First, let me get a little business out of the way. If anyone out there is interested coming aboard as a financial backer for this season, now is the time to spring into action. We only have 6 seats left open on the S&S / CTS bus this year and I would love to welcome one or more new crew members aboard.
It's been a little warm here in sunny Florida, but we''re going to launch Carib and get this party started by Tuesday...Monday if all the cards fall the right way. We'll be out there soon...spend a few days getting everything and everyone adjust to the new stuff and get our routine going again. Carib goes out first with Betty getting some chase boat time and after I do a few days of work on our own Casa de Tesoro, Showdown goes to work too. I have neglected a lot of home ownership chores, but the time has come....darn it.
While no one may care but us, I had a bit of inspiration today. While sitting very still and assessing the motor cover situation , I realized that I was about to do a lot of work to make something complicated when something simple would be better. Our old motor cover was great for sitting, fair for tank storage, but the pits for oil checking...it weighs about 75 lbs. With the help of Eric Johnson it went overboard in about 4 feet of air.
The new one is going to be 6 inches tall instead of 20 inches. We will put a nice cooler on the cover for storage and seating and a 4 tank rack for...you guessed it...4 tanks. In the off season there will be about 15 square feet of deck space if we're cruising to far off places or something. With a little luck, pictures tomorrow.
So - I need to cut the roof awning, finish the engine cover, install the nav unit, re-install the underdeck storage box and check on the fuel senders. It's going to be a long day. Expect a Facebook Live st sometime during the day...I need to introduce everyone to Carib's new Cummins heart
Stay tuned!
Ladies and gentlemen...Thank you all for your interest and thanks especially to the folks who have come aboard the crew for the 2019 season. We are going to have the best year ever! We are completely subscribed for 2019.
This is the last place in the world where you can be a part of the search for Spanish Treasure, so come along and see what we find! Maybe next year will be YOUR year to come aboard!
