Uwang Ahadas held a deep appreciation for instrumental music, recognizing its significance in both the agricultural cycle and the Yakan social sphere. Despite his impaired eyesight, he was renowned for his exceptional talent and expertise in playing various Yakan instruments, ensuring the safeguarding and prosperity of his musical heritage.

Starting with the bamboo xylophone known as the 'gabbang', Uwang's dedication and skill propelled him to advance to more complex instruments such as the 'agung' and the 'kwintangan kayu'. Rather than being discouraged by the weight of tradition, it only served to ignite his determination to showcase his extraordinary gift. Although Yakan tradition designated the 'kwintangan' as an instrument for women and the 'agung' for men, Uwang's genius and unwavering resolve shattered these gender-based boundaries. By the age of twenty, he had mastered the most significant Yakan musical instruments, including the 'kwintangan', solidifying his position as a true virtuoso.

The province of Basilan is gearing up to celebrate its golden anniversary from February 27 to March 7.

LOOK | Mussah Si Tennun Pakaradjaan 2024 candidates embark on a Personality Development Seminar with resource speakers Atty. Rosebelle Sanson, Nilda T. Delos Reyes, and Jerome Jaquilmac sharing insights on personality development, responsible social media use, and stress management.

ARD Rene V. Carbayas of PIA IX and creative director of Artes Creative Production team imparted his message, highlighting the seminar's importance for the candidates.

Budget Officer Gordana Intan Abubakar expressed her appreciation for their active participation in Pakaradjaan 2024.

LOOK | The Mussah si Tennun Pakaradjaan candidates together with Artes Creatives Production team paid a courtesy visit to Governor Jim H. Salliman on Tuesday, January 16, 2024 and discussed necessary preparations to ensure a meaningful and successful event of Mussah Si Tennun Pakaradjaan 2024 in line with the 50th Founding Anniversary of Basilan Province. Other possible activities in relation to the celebration were also discussed.

The Artes Creatives team has been an active partner of the Provincial Government of Basilan in its annual Pakaradjaan since 2016.
