The solid oak dining tables at the Couvaloup store are elegant and an example of superb craftsmanship. They are made in Belgium, of top quality French oak. The Farmer table (on display at the store) has a shaker style simplicity and a small drawer on one side. Sizes: 160x90 | 200x90 | 250x100 | The cloister table is a stunner too.. Did you know we have many special outdoor fabrics at the Couvaloup store? Also we are dealer of the outdoor collections of brands like Ethimo, Gervasoni and Sika Design. This fabulous design is the Belladonna sofa, in a specially commissioned fabric by Sika. The original design (1967) is by Italian designer duo Franco Albini and Franca Helg for . It is available in both natural rattan AND a patented outdoor material. Looks exactly the same as natural rattan but withstands all kinds of weather. Have a good weekend!

New in at the Couvaloup store: 100% linen sofa cover in 100 % linen. ‘Hmmm, what is a sofa cover…?’ I hear you think. Well, let me explain. A sofa cover is a padded plaid, measuring 85cm x 185cm, to put on your sofa to protect it and add character at the same time. Ours are the originals, by Parisian brand . Available in four colorways and carefully woven on traditional looms. Use one when the dog snuggles up to you on the couch, or when small children eat their afternoon snacks watching telly. Or just to beautify and personalise your sofa. Machine washable at 30C🤍

New cushions in at the store, plus this stunning lamp shade, made by hand. The rattan lounge chair is a 1936 design by Viggo Boesen. It is also available in an outdoor version, made of aluminium that looks exactly like rattan.

In less than three months Le Mas Couvaloup will look like this again. Can you believe it? The very old wisteria that graces our walls is of the Chinese variety, called Wisteria Sinensis. It flowers early in spring, before the leaves appear and it is less fragrant than its Japanese sister Floribunda. If you are not sure which kind of Wisteria you have, look at the way it twines its support: Floribunda twines clockwise and Sinensis twines anticlockwise!

A 3m long footstool or banquette (covered in our favorite Kuba Cay fabric by ) is backing the LOLL sofa by . Petite coussins by are filled with spelt to use as neck cushions, but when you have no neck difficulties they are a cute detail in any living room. 🤍

We have been wall papering at the store, to showcase some more possibilities how to play with a room using texture and pattern. First three pictures are of what we call a ‘texture brut’ in French. It depicts a once white painted wall, now aging to a wonderful patina. The wall paper is made to measure to fit your space. Almost Christmas! But… At the Couvaloup store it’s always summer and I couldn’t resist posting this gorgeous setting with the new outdoor GHOST sofa. A Provencal outdoor seating area to die for… This sofa imo just IS the ultimate Mediterranean look. Winter decoration at the Couvaloup store. I just love the gold imperial domes… The store has had a small update again, mainly to give more space to our collection of fabrics. Whether you are looking to re-upholster your favourite armchair or sofa or have had your head turned by a new headboard - just a few metres of fabric can totally transform a piece of furniture from frumpy to feisty.. 💫 We love to advise …!

Looking back at last weekend in Marrakech, with a focus on the gardens we visited. The enclosed spaces, with shade, water, fragrance and colour are a retreat from the heat and essential for the Islamic garden. 🪴🤍

This morning we had some fun styling a coffee table during a talk I gave for ladies of the American school. We spoke about the challenges that come with living in house that is not your own, in a place that might feel very foreign… About being not too practical, finding out what you really love, curating & building a collection. In januari we’ll do ‘open workshops’ on colorschemes and textures for everyone to sign up for ✍️ Keep an eye on the insta for dates.

The importance of a neutral palette - A calm color scheme is best pared with texture, to bring different layers of interest. Natural materials, whether they are stone or wood, linen or reed can help to anchor a neutral color scheme. They bring laid back quality that always works well for me… It means that the overall look doesn’t feel too contrived or uptight or overly designed. Sofas and armchairs that are covered in light tones -or white even- of varying textures, like linen, canvas and a bouclé for example, continue a lightness of touch. Works nicely with the white walls in this part of the store. #layering #texture #lightness
