Casa Macaw is now focusing on either one person or a couple as guests in our beautiful casita. It is a perfect setting to celebrate special occasions such as birthdays or anniversaries. It's also a perfect place to simply relax in the beautiful countryside among the friendly people of Costa Rica. The rates for Casa Macaw are: single, $75 per nite; couple, $85 per nite. There is a three night minimum and a $25 cleaning fee. Included for each day of your stay is a day pass to El Tucano hot springs. What more could you ask for?

It has been a year sinse I last posted on Cada Macaw and I'm sorry to have been missing in action, however a few things slowed us down.

Casa Macaw New Beginnings

"The times they are a changing," and it's a time for new beginnings for Casa Macaw.

The new Casa Macaw is now going to focus on either singles or couples as guests in our beautiful casita. It will be a place to celebrate special events such as birthdays or anniversaries. . .or being able to travel as a single person and feel safe and special. . .or to escape the cold weather where you live and just relax in the beautiful and tranquil surroundings of the San Carlos countryside among the friendly people of Costa Rica.

Stay tuned because I will be posting frequently on topics of special interest to visitors to our local area.

Casa Macaw is now available with a minimum of 3 days for $95 a day which includes a cleaning fee. Information for a driver and special tours is available if needed. The Casa Macaw Vacation Package x2 is still available. Check it out.

High season has arrived here in Costa Rica.

It starts in January and continues until the end of April. That doesn’t mean the rest of the year isn’t wonderful though. Come visit anytime and enjoy some of the natural beauty found right here at Casa Macaw.

Had to share this one. Very cute. Merry Christmas to all.

'Twas the night before Slothmas,
when all through TSI
All the two-fingereds were stirring,
they’re nocturnal, that’s why.

All the sloths were hanging
on their branches with care.
In hopes that when tomorrow came,
fresh leaves would be there.

The three-fingereds were nestled
together all snug.
While they chomped on guarumo,
avoiding that bug. 🐜

Team Sloth had just settled
for a quick jungle nap
When the rescue phone chimed
so we gave it a tap.

A Good Samaritan said
that a sloth was in danger!
So we grabbed a rescue kennel
- (it’s like a sloth manger).

And off we went to see
what was the matter.
When we arrived at the scene,
the sloth was making such a clatter.

He was stuck on a roof
with only electric wires nearby.
If we didn’t get him down
then most likely he’d die.

But lucky for him,
we’d help him out of this bind.
And relocate him safely,
so a new forest he could find.

The Good Samaritan was so thankful
she didn’t know if we’d appear.
We said, “Kind lady never fret,
the TSI team is always near”!

With another life saved,
we went to sleep and turned off the light.
Whispering to each other
“Merry Slothmas to All, and to All a goodnight”

Rio celeste—another spectacular and mesmerizing expierence included in our package..

A unique place of great natural beauty. Celeste River has its name due the color of its turquoise waters produced by a chemical reaction.
An exciting legend gave the Rio its name (Rio Celeste means 'light blue river'). The story goes that when God was creating the universe, he was painting the sky. When he finished, he washed the brushes in the river, creating the beautiful blue color that we see today at the Rio Celeste.
