Day 3 of our custom Asheville Bike Tour. Breathtaking views on the Blue Ridge Parkway, hot tubs, the Biltmore and kayaking. 🎉 Help us congratulate Bike the South founder, Jim Johnson for his induction into the Chattanooga Bicycle Club Cycling Hall of Fame!

Jim was honored for his tireless dedication to cycling advocacy and trail building in . He was in great company standing with the other inductees of the inaugural class of the Chattanooga Cycling Hall of Fame and we couldn't be more proud to work for a man that works so hard to give people access to safe cycling routes and trails in our community.

Monday morning meditation: you’re a rock in a mountain stream, firmly fixed to your part of the ecosystem. You feel the water gently trickle over, and leaves fall onto you, making a quick home before giving into the stream and bidding you farewell. A salamander rests in your shelter. All is well.

When we say “slow travel,” this is what we mean. We’ll take time to sit by mountain streams if that’s what we want to do. We’ll just listen, and let nature calm our thoughts and soothe our bodies.

Cycling is a great way to find these beautiful oases in nature. When you’re cycling, you’re paying more attention to your surroundings. You hear the stream and let it call to you. You feel the breeze. You fill your lungs with mountain air. You experience “now” in a way our busy culture tries to erase. We’ll help you get back to those roots.

We had so much fun with this lovely couple on our Tsali Notch Halloween Bikes, Bluegrass and Wine Tasting tour yesterday!

We traveled 19-miles on quiet country roads. We found curious horses and some fall colors starting to show.

There was even a Puerto Rican food truck on-site serving up tasty treats.

Day 4: Athens to Savannah

What do you do on a week long bike tour when you can't bike? You explore by van, by foot and by beer!

Mother nature had other plans for us today. Maybe it was her way of telling us to rest. While she cried, we explored George L Smith State Park by van and by foot. Then we headed to to swap stories and sip on cold craft brews in Statesboro, GA. All in all, it was a lovely day and we appreciate our riders taking it easy and going with the flow.

Day 3 Athens to Savannah Tour

Today we traveled 57 miles from Jewell to Tennille, GA. It's the longest and hilliest riding day of the week and our riders loved/crushed it!

Highlights include:
☑️ Tour the organic indoor mushroom farm at and learn about their production.
☑️ Pause at the Glenn Mary Historic House for a photo.
☑️ Lunch at Trackside Pub & Deli
☑️ Sunset on a private dock, home cooked meal and respite at the Lavender Country House

The weather and the riding couldn't be more perfect! We will be back at tomorrow on our way Swainsboro. Until then, goodnight.

Day 2 of the Athens to Savannah tour we left the in Maxeys and rode 50 miles to Jewell, GA. We enjoyed a tour of the Ogeechee River Mill from the owner Missy, who's incredibly passionate and knowledgeable about the Mill she operates.

We arrived at the in time for a catered dinner with who's the director of trail. She shared information about the work she's doing to develop the trail and being more cyclists to the area.

Another wonderful day of riding and southern hospitality from our B&B's.

The Bike the South team took a field trip to do our Tellico Farmland Explorer tour, and we met a lot of hoofed, pawed, and feathered friends along the way. 🤠

This route is roughly 24 miles with plenty of opportunities to stop along the way. Plus, you get to enjoy a picnic lunch at an old, historic one-room schoolhouse and stop at the Mennonite farm market on the way out.

Highlights of our ride:
• A dog that played fetch with a leaf
• Big ol’ pigs
• Feisty goats
• Waving and saying hi to all the locals
• The incredible, breathtaking views
• Dialing into all of our senses to experience the day

Let's talk about Saturday — the forecasted high is 72°, the chance of rain is slim (15%), and the leaves are reaching their peak. 🍂
