Practice Session, September 6, 2023
My video footage that I got from today's scheduled practice. I hope you got a chance to watch!
Remember, if you missed today, you still have an opportunity for Thursday AND Friday this week but make plans to watch from off-base. The National Naval Aviation Museum's observation area will not be open and their parking lot has a lot of trees obscuring your view.

Video footage of today's unschedule practice!
If you missed today, you still have an opportunity tomorrow morning. Again, do not make plans to watch from on-base tomorrow, the National Naval Aviation Museum's flightline observation area is only open for "scheduled" days. You'll want to watch from either Fort Pickens or the Target store parking lot on Blue Angel Parkway.
For more information on "unscheduled" practices, review this post:

My video footage from today's practice. Sorry, I was trying to do it freehand but I need to use a tripod next time. I'm just not good enough to hold it steady. It was a great practice with nice clear skies! If you missed today, you still have chances on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday at 10:30!

While we're in a bit of a break from seeing the Blue Angels practice over our area skies, let's listen to why we see different things depending on cloud cover and visibility!

PLEASE remember, today was the last practice in this exact spot until July 11, 2023.
.
The Red, White, and Blues Pensacola Beach show will ONLY be visible over Pensacola Beach (July 5-8, 2023). Do NOT attempt to go to Target, on-base, or Fort Pickens during this time, you'll be in the wrong place and very disappointed.

Here are a few video clips of Fat Albert's flight this morning.

A couple of quick housekeeping things. On the day of practice, I have a post that is pre-scheduled for 7:30am with the practice status. When there are weather delays or cancellations, I will make the updates as I find them out. I don't know ahead of time, and these calls are usually made near or at practice time.
.
As I state in every morning's status post, PLEASE refrain from asking for a personal update. I try to be as responsive as I can but getting 100 comments and direct messages asking is overwhelming. They fly in all different weather conditions, we can't tell ahead of time what they are going to decide, each day is unique. I've seen them fly when its cloudy, I've seen them fly during a thunderstorm last year. We just never know. Please don't ask.
.
I update the status post in real time. It's going to be short and abbreviated because I'm standing out along the same locations you are in the sun, trying to update a phone and listen to the scanner. Please bear with me and leave the snide comments about how you think it should be done, in your mind and not typed in as a comment. I'm doing the best I can and those comments are not helpful.
.
As always, enjoy the show! We'll try this again tomorrow.
