Mackinac Island must see and do’s ✨
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
🍁 Go to Smokey Jose’s ( ) for tacos and tequila flights, sit out back on the patio that faces the lake and island scenery. I’m not going to lie, the tequila flights were my favorite thing there.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
🚲 Rent a bicycle and ride around the island. It was about $46.00 total to rent 2 bikes for a little over 2 hours (with the discount from ), and it’s about an 8 mile ride around the island.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
🍹 Go to the signature Pink Pony ( )! Enjoy their live music after 9:00PM, and their popular rum punch drink.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
🏰 Visit the Grand Hotel ( ). It’s beautiful to look at from the outside. I didn’t get a chance to go inside, but I have heard great things. If you do decide to go in, remember there is a dress code and you have to pay $10 to enter.

⛰ Hike some cool spots on the island, especially with the fall colors. To name a few; Arch rock, Fort Mackinac, Fort Holmes, Eagle Point Cave, Sunset Rock, and Anne’s Tablet.

🍫 Walk downtown and get you some of the islands famous fudge and water taffy.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
🐴 Rent your own horse or carriage to get around the island. I wish I got to do this! If you do, make sure to reserve a horse ahead of time.

🦋 Visit the Butterfly House & Insect World ( ). It’s the 3rd oldest live butterfly exhibit in the United States.

I know I’m missing something. I only went for 24 hours, and didn’t even get a chance to do some of the things on this list. Tell me what I’m missing to do! I want to go back again, and I am leaning more towards only going during the fall season.

Look at the mountains in the back! The sunset was too pretty to not take a photo. My perfect wedding date does anything to recreate the photos I imagine in my head lol! I told him I knew exactly what kind of picture I wanted with this scenery, and I got it.

🍹My top recommendations of where to eat in St Thomas🍴
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
🍔 Shoreline restaurant was right behind Margarativille. You walk the shoreline along the beach to get to there. They also have a pool on top of the building.
& Margaritaville’s restaurant has happy hour everyday 4-6PM, buy one get one free, with an ocean view.

🌮 Go to Red Hook. There are a ton of different style restaurants to choose from. Outrigger’s is one we really loved and it was featured on HGTV. $18 for bottomless mimosas on Sundays! Also try Island Time Pub, Caribbean Saloon, or Kinky Mermaid. But there’s a ton more options.

🍝 Going to Charlotte Amalie is a great option. That’s where we found Greengo’s Caribbean Cantina. They infuse their margaritas themselves, has that Mexico theme, and they have this hot sauce that was almost too hot for me but I still liked it lol. Also, go to Shama’s Specialties. We didn’t get a chance to go, which I really wanted to, but people say the food is good and they do heavy pours for their alcoholic drinks.

🍝 Lastly, try Prime at Paradis Point. More of a fancy place for date night. Eat dinner on a mountain top with a view of St Thomas and the ocean, while watching the sunset.

Too many beaches to choose from when in US Virgin Islands. We went to Coki beach and Magen’s Bay. Both beaches were so beautiful. The clearest, bluest water I have ever swam in.

Taxi’s are readily available at both beaches if you need transportation. There is no park fee to visit Coki beach. You can rent beach chairs for $5 each, and umbrellas for $10. There are 3 bars on the beach, a gift shop, 2 restaurants, and a place to rent water equipment (snorkel gear, scuba gear, etc). Get there a little earlier to find a place to sit. It gets pretty busy later in the day.

I also suggest if you buy drinks on the beach, go straight up to the bar. There are beach servers who walk around and offer to grab drinks for you. We did order our first drinks from a beach server. The next round, Jordan went up to the bar to order and was charged $5 cheaper per drink than what the server said the drinks were worth. LOL. But can’t hate on the hustle!

Magen’s Bay beach was also very nice. You have to pay $5 park fee to spend the day there. Beach chairs and umbrellas are a lot more expensive here, with beach chairs being $10 each, and an umbrella $15. If you do rent beach chairs and an umbrella, you have to deposit $30 including the rental payment. When you return it, you get your $30 back. You do have to turn it in by 4:00PM or you will be charged a late fee.

Also, Jordan lost our rental ticket and they were not impressed. So don’t loose the ticket!

There is also a restaurant on the beach that serves drinks as well, along with a place to rent water equipment (snorkel gear, etc). This beach did get a little busy as well even though some other people say it doesn’t. The views and water are still gorgeous here though. So it’s worth it to visit.

Next time we plan on going to Lindquist beach, Turtle Bay beach, and Water Island to explore those beaches.

Reminiscing on Costa Rica!

Would I go again? Yes! Should you go? Yes!!

We spent 1 week there in the Guanacaste province. Our Airbnb was in Portreo, we spent some time in Playa Penca, Tamarindo, Playa Flamingo, and Llanos de Cortes (Bagaces). I still can’t get over the view from our house! It sat right on top of a mountain, so the view was insane!

Who wants to stay here?!

Just FYI, if you do end up booking a couple nights here, I’m letting you know now there is no TV.

The point of staying here is to escape from your everyday routine, relax, and destress. So expect the WIFI to not be so great, and only indulge in spending time with the people you’re with. Jordan and I played music the entire time and downloaded a couple movies on our IPad’s to watch when we got in bed. But we never felt like we needed a TV for entertainment.

❗️What to do in Pompano Beach, FL❗️ I lost my hat during these photos 😂

🏖 Play on the beach, obviously! You can rent out jet skis, kite surfing, and snorkeling gear. Or pick out a spot to relax and lay out in the sun, swim in the water. The sand is soft and the water is warm!
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
🚲 The weather is always nice to rent out bikes and ride around the city. Like I mentioned before, everything is pretty close so if you don’t feel like walking or taking an Uber, biking is the way to go. You will see a lot of people doing it.

🛍 You have to go shopping at any of the gift shops. If you’re the type of person to get the Pompano Beach landmark clothing or coffee mugs, these shops are everywhere.

BUT WAIT!!!! You HAVE to visit Diamond & Doggies! It’s a shop that sells jewelry AND puppies!!! I didn’t get a chance to visit because by the time I found out it existed, we were leaving 😭 so if you go, please tag me in pictures or send them to me!

🛥 There are options to rent out a boat, water taxi, or have a sunset dinner on a yacht. Normally these rides tour inter coastal.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
🍹 Visit any outdoor dining restaurant and have dinner and drinks or brunch while being on the beach.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
🐚 Walk on the beach and collect sea shells, see all jelly fish that wash up on shore, watch pelicans dive into the water for food, and people go fishing off the pier.

🐊 Everglades tourist attraction is a must if you have never experienced it. Get on a boat in the wetlands of Florida and have a chance to see alligators and other animals.
