Another review from the mountains of Georgia. Thanks for the kind words, Tricia Kreis. We can't wait to see you next year, too!!
After a long day of writing on day 3, we enjoyed a movie night. Then woke up to a bright and crisp day to continue our productivity. Our excursion on day 4 brought us to Blue Ridge for some meandering and a nice dinner at Harvest On Main followed by a repeat of s'mores by the fire pit. Our writers left on day 5 after our "not goodbye breakfast" created by our amazing personal chef Tintswalo Catering.
This group was inspiring and connected and found some special friendships among their kindred souls. There were so many laughs and a lot of words written. Until next year, Blue Ridge!
You'll have to wait until next year, the Blue Ridge retreat is sold out. We have a waiting list if you'd like to get on it. Link in Bio.

Learn how retreat host, Kristi Leonard, started Writers in the Wild writing retreats.
I know how lucky I am that each week I get to chat with an amazing variety of writers, retreat hosts, and venue owners. This week's interview with Kristi Leonard (Writers in the Wild) continues that trend.
Kristi is involved in the writing world from many aspects - President of the Women's Fiction Writers Association, author, audio narrator for nonfiction books, writing retreat host, and future host of a podcast for writers.
As you can imagine, our conversation touched on a variety of topics:
đ All the details for Kristi's next Writing in the Wild Retreat in Georgia.
đ Where her idea for the retreat came from.
đ How hers differ from many others out there.
đ Lessons learned from hosting her first two writing retreats.
đ How she promotes them with an emphasis on email marketing.
And so much more!

I thought Iâd re-introduce myself. Hi, Iâm Kristi Leonard, your retreat host. I started Writers in the Wild because I couldnât find the kind of retreat I wanted.
I hike weekly with a group of writers, and the days after a hike are the best writing days for me. Itâs the combination of movement, fresh air and being around creative people who âget meâ (seriously, writers are a unique breed). So thatâs exactly what you get on my retreats.
We donât have classes or workshops, we WRITE. You will get pampered with excellent food by our personal chef. Youâll sleep really well in luxurious bedding. You will have access to miles of hiking trails right on the property (265 acres). We have many opportunities to gather with excursions and around the outdoor fireplace.
Itâs the gift you should give yourself this holiday. Join us for the Blue Ridge Retreat April 19-23,2024.

Cooperstown excursion was a blast. Stopped at Fly Creek Cider Mill for some hard cider tasting on our very own trolley. Then headed to Americaâs hometown for a walk and an interesting adventure in an old used bookstore looking for the most obscure book. Dinner at the Oswego Inn was delightful (but not nearly as good as the food our private chef, Mark, has been serving. All in all, it was a great last evening. We all accomplished so much and hate to have to say goodbye tomorrow. This Is Cooperstown, NY

I think you've found your calling. You were AMAZING! The women were AMAZING. The retreat was AMAZING. I loved it.
----------
I thought this retreat was well organized, held at a beautiful location, involved the right mix of activity and writing time, and I honestly can't think of anything that you need to improve.
----------
I really enjoyed the writing time. It was just the right balance of mixing with like-minded writers and time to get some work done. I never felt obligated to join in any group activities, and that was nice.
----------
Every writer dreams of going away to a cabin in the woods to write. The Writerâs In The Wild Blue Ridge Retreat fulfilled that dream for me with luxury accommodations, a private chef, guided meditation, hiking, camaraderie with fellow writers, and plenty of quiet time to write.

In April, ten women writers came together for an unforgettable five days in the Blue Ridge Mountains. We ate and drank. We shared stories, and spent time in nature. We hiked, and laughed, and cried. We put down thousands of words on pages. The Writers in the Wild Retreat was a magical experience that connected women writers, most who had never met before. I cannot wait for the next one.
