Parkdean Resorts
A message from our CEO...
To all our valued holiday home owners,
I wanted to write to you to make you aware of the steps Parkdean Resorts is taking across our business to respond to the Coronavirus outbreak.
Firstly, as the UK’s largest holiday park operator, we are committed to prioritising the health and wellbeing of our owners, customers and employees, above anything else.
Parkdean Resort’s response to Coronavirus, has and will, continue to be informed by Government guidance, which is led by scientific and medical advice.
We are fortunate that our Parks are located in rural and coastal areas and our customers arrive individually by car. Our caravans and lodges are by definition stand-alone and in that respect no different to a personal home in contrast to an office or flat for example.
We are therefore making the following promises:
• Sanitisation: since the start of the outbreak we have introduced stringent and regular increased sanitation of shared spaces, individual units and frequently touched surfaces. We will have dedicated cleaning teams in our public spaces at all times.
• Employees: we are briefing our teams on a daily basis and have introduced new routines and equipment to keep within Government guidelines.
• Social proximity: our parks are the ideal locations to avoid close social proximity. We are fortunate that our average park is 42 acres with wide open spaces, beaches and forests and provide more than enough individual space to enjoy plenty of fresh air and relaxation. Our parks benefit from isolated locations and are not located in densely populated urban areas.
• Social distancing: we have capped capacity in all our bars and restaurants to 50% at all times. This allows us to increase the space between tables and seating groups and maintain social distancing.
• Accommodation: all caravans, cabins and lodges are individual and legally at least four metres away from each other and enjoy their own self-catering and facilities. This allows our customers and owners to be independent and avoid close social proximity with others.
• Chalets: all our chalets are separate, individual and standalone from each other with self-catering facilities and no shared areas.
• Camping and mobile caravans: tents and mobile caravans are again by definition individual and isolated and we as a company will ensure appropriate spacing of two or more metres is maintained at all times. Communal washing facilities and public toilets are undergoing increased sanitation and hygiene checks.
• Glamping: all our tents are spaced three metres apart.
• Group activities: we have stopped all activity provision which involve close contact and groups, including bingo, archery, high ropes and kid’s clubs, ball pools. We continue to provide access to our swimming pools as we know that chlorinated environments are safe, but have removed some pool activities.
• Entertainment: our levels of entertainment have been much reduced and will be solely stage driven and will involve no social interaction.
This is a unique and fast-moving situation and we will continue to monitor the situation on a daily basis and will keep our owners, customers and people informed throughout.
Kind regards,
Steve Richards,
Chief Executive Officer
