I am not really a Vegas sort of person, but for a day or two, it can be such a blast. And, I have found that, planning a trip right before a big holiday, such as Thanksgiving or Christmas, is A W E S O M E ! ...you have the place to yourself, or, as close to it as possible.

Some of my favorite spots include Happy Hour at Stratosphere 107 Sky Lounge (to watch the sunset over the city with 2 for 1 AMAZING drinks) and dinner at Lago (with front seat to the dancing fountains with equally amazing dinner & top-notch drinks)....both are required stops for each of my visits to Vegas 🖤 🎰 @ MGM Grand Las Vegas

We saw a pretty picture of the Petrified Forest online and thought it looked pretty cool to visit on day. And upon further googling, we found out it was just a quick detour off our Devil’s Highway route and decided we had to stop there. It was a gorgeous ride and the scenery was beyond belief. I had no idea that the petrified trees were about 225 MILLION YEARS OLD. They formed during Pangaea when our modern day Arizona part of the ocean floor. At around 60 million years ago, the land rose, the ocean disappeared, and rivers carved away all the sediment to find all the petrified logs. There are so many logs here, in some areas they glisten over the plain looking like glitter sparkled about. ⠀⠀
Pretty cool stuff⠀⠀
And, by the way, petrified = crystallized. ⠀
So, these are basically just colorful glistening crystals that formed under the ocean floor.⠀⠀
There are many shops along the way that sell the petrified logs, if you want to take home your very own crystallized, colorful, 225 million year old petrified log. @ Petrified Forest National Park

over O N E H U N D R E D M I L E S of the best turns for a motorcycle ride…⁣

This was the best part of the 3 day trip….⁣
If you like to ride and you enjoy the twisties, you have to visit the Historic Route 666. ⁣
This portion of the ride has so many turn backs and hairpin turns, with pretty much no one else around. You might see one or two other people along the way, but this is not a direct road for commuters, you will have it all to yourself.⁣

The entire loop from Phoenix and back is over 600 miles and is awesome.⁣
⁣
⁣

Morenci, Arizona...⁣

Home to one of the largest copper mines in the United States.⁣
⁣
⁣
When we planned to stop in Morenci for the night, I had no idea that it was home to this copper mine. And it was quite impressive, the pictures don’t even do it justice. If you zoom in a bit, you may be able to see the size of the vehicles and equipment that they use at the copper mine. It will give you a scale of how humongous this entire mine is. It was quite impressive to ride by. @ Morenci, Arizona

Check out our three day moto trip to the Devil’s Highway! ⁣
⁣
You could definitely make this trip longer by spending more time in the charming towns along the way or by taking a bit of a twisty detour along the adjacent roads, but three days would be the minimum for you the road trip to and from Phoenix.⁣
⁣
This area in Arizona also happens to be the home of some of the most beautiful lakes that I have seen. You could make a whole trip just to hang out at the lakes!⁣

Do you love moto trips....? and have 3 days to burn....

The Devil's highway in Arizona (route 191, formerly route 666) won't dissappoint, with over 100 miles of secluded twisties, you will be in moto-paradise.

Take a quick flight to Phoenix, pick up a bike, and drive to Morenci. Morenci is home to one of the largest copper mines in the United States, which is actually, quite fascinating to see with your own eyes. Pictures don't do it justice. Stay the night in Morenci and start the morning fresh at the start of all the turns. End the day in the beautiful Petrified Forest National Park.

Oh Sunny Arizona....
I will visit you anytime.

We got to ride through everything on our little adventure. From lush forest to vast deserts, hot hot temperatures in the 100's near Phoenix to the quite chilly 40's in the higher elevations. Gorgeous roads, gorgeous landscapes, and memories for a lifetime that make you want to go back for more.

The last night of island hopping in Belize and we came home from the local bar to this beautiful sunset and dinner on the catamaran. This was our first time sailing around a bunch of islands and it definitely won’t be our last. This trip inspired me to officially learn to sail, so we will fit it in between all of our other hobbies as add it to the rotation.

Belize, as a whole, has beautiful islands and such wonderful marine life. You can spend your days swimming in some of the most beautiful waters and spend your nights at the local restaurants and bars that have one thing on the menu each night....which is always the best one thing you have ever had.

Perspective is everything... If you hold it out farther, it will seem bigger 😜

Fishing off a dock at a small bar in Placencia, Belize with the locals. We had been fishing all week off the back of our catamaran, with no luck at all. We would see schools of fish in the water, bonk them on the nose with the bait, and nothing. The bartender taught us how to catch a fish with just a string and tiny hook. We took a stab at it and just caught this. It was our biggest catch all week, so a win for us...
