We are a sleeps 4, pet friendly, self catering cottage on the NC500 route. Built in the 1880's and fully renovated, this stone cottage nestles within two acres of its own ground on the Noss Head peninsula, with panoramic views to Orkney and the Pentland Skerries. It overlooks the impressive ruins of the 13th Century Castle Sinclair/Girnigoe, ancient seat of Clan Sinclair, and nearby No

ss Head Lighthouse. It is excellent for birdwaching with over 220 species of birds recorded in the area, including many rare migrants. Whales and dolphins pass offshore and there are seabird colonies along the nearby cliffs. The cottage is 20kms from The Flow Country and within easy access of the Orkney Islands.

If you get bored watching the view or it's blowing too much of a hoolie to wander down to the castle, you can always have a go at tinkling on the ivories. They might be a bit out of tune but, if your singing is anything like mine, it won't be noticed!

A little bit of local produce to welcome you to Seaview.

Taken on 1st January, 2024 from the cottage garden by my daughter after a momentous day and prior to the snow. Hopefully a good omen for everyone in 2024. Better late than never, wishing everyone all the best for 2024 and beyond. Enjoy each day as it comes, be it good or bad, tomorrow will be different again.

A lovely view from the cottage today. Maybe not picnic weather but the stove will keep you warm indoors.

Our lovely guest last week sent us some fantastic photos of the cottage and the local area. I will add them in dribs and drabs as I wouldn't want to spoil you too much at one time.

Some photos of the garden this morning in the sunshine. It is difficult to get things to grow in some parts of Caithness due to salt spray. These trees and bushes have taken over 20 years to make any headway, although the daisies under the picnic table come up every year. The bushes do get pruned back now in autumn but are left to their full glory in the summer when they fruit and bloom.

Had a relaxing visit to Seaview last week. Two photos taken within two days. Variety is the spice of life, that give it all its flavour. You can't appreciate one day, without the other.

We are happy to accommodate 2 pets. We don't have a high fence if your pet is agile. We are situated near a working farm and some high cliffs. For your pets' safety, please keep them under supervision at all times.
There are some great walks directly from the cottage along the headland, and also at Reiss and Keiss beaches which are a short travel distance.
This is our lovely boy chilling in front of the stove. He doesn't come with the cottage.
