Si you know what is this ?
It seems like you’re referring to the “Diquís Spheres” in Costa Rica. The Diquís Spheres, also known as the “Stone Spheres of the Diquís” or simply “Las Esferas,” are a collection of over 300 almost perfectly round stone spheres found in the Diquís Delta in southern Costa Rica. These spheres are an archaeological marvel, varying in size from a few centimeters to over two meters in diameter, with some weighing up to 16 tons.

# # # Key Features and Facts:

1. **Material and Craftsmanship**: Most of the spheres are made from gabro, a type of igneous rock similar to basalt, although some are crafted from limestone and sandstone. They exhibit remarkable craftsmanship, with many being nearly perfect spheres.

2. **Cultural Origin**: The spheres are attributed to the pre-Columbian Diquís culture, which thrived in the region from around 700 to 1530 CE. The exact methods used to create these spheres remain unknown, but it’s believed they were shaped using tools made from harder stones and by employing techniques involving heat and cooling.

3. **Purpose and Significance**: The purpose of the spheres is still largely a mystery. Scholars have speculated that they may have been used as status symbols, boundary markers, or for astronomical purposes. Their alignment and placement in groups suggest they had significant cultural or ceremonial roles.

4. **Discovery and History**: The spheres were first documented in the 1930s when the United Fruit Company began clearing land for banana plantations. Since then, many have been moved from their original locations, which has complicated efforts to study their original placements and cultural contexts.

5. **UNESCO World Heritage Site**: In 2014, the pre-Columbian chiefdom settlements with stone spheres of the Diquís were designated

That is true ?
Blue river (rio celeste )The Rio Celeste, also known as the Blue River, in Costa Rica is famous for its striking turquoise blue color. This phenomenon is due to a combination of natural chemical and physical processes. The key factors contributing to the river’s unique color are:

1. **Mineral Composition**: The river’s waters contain high levels of aluminum silicate, a mineral that reflects sunlight in a particular way, giving the water its distinctive blue hue.

2. **Confluence of Two Rivers**: The blue color is most vivid where the Rio Buena Vista and the Rio Quebrada Agria meet. This is known as the “Teñidero,” or dye point. The confluence creates a chemical reaction between the acidic waters of Quebrada Agria and the mineral-rich waters of Buena Vista, resulting in the formation of a substance that scatters light in a way that makes the water appear blue.

3. **Optical Illusion**: The riverbed’s white clay and the sunlight’s reflection enhance the blue color, creating the striking visual effect.

This natural phenomenon makes the Rio Celeste a popular tourist destination, often visited for its surreal appearance and the beauty of the surrounding Tenorio Volcano National Park.
