Myrna Loy the Perfect Wife as identiifed in `Down With Myth America` by Sandra Shevey NYTimes 24 May 1970

Interviewed Myrna in the Seventies.

Reading currently her autobiography. Every other page references the `Myth America` sobriquet. Annoying!

Referred to at the height of her career as `The Nose`. Lucky they did not christen her `The Nose Job`.

A star when Roz Russell was playing ingenues.

Have to say she must have been much older than I took her for to play senior to Roz`s junior. Looked good as I recall.

John Garfield and wife Roberta. Garfield, Warner Bros, biggest star, was hounded out of Hollywood by HUAC for refusing to inform on his wife. Warners would not re-instate him without a waiver HUAC and HUAC was not about to concede until and unless Garfield informed. He refused.

Deprived of earning and studio re-instatement Garfield died either a su***de or a heart attack.

The wife Roberta survived and died age 87.

Great, great tragedy. Garfield`s funeral was as well attended as Valentino`s. So so sad.

`Drive my Car`...listening to Beatles tracks while having my hair cut the other day. The lyric: `You can do something in between`. Liverpool locker room slang. Do not know how one) they came up with it so effottlessly and two) how it got past the censors.

The songs are riddled with male innuendo and Scouse locker room slang. So incredible. Cracks the S*x Revolution wide open.

Moving to St. John`s Wood did not seem to impact upon Paul`s creativity, originality and/or locker room idiom. Thank G-d!

Marilyn and Anne Bancroft in `Don`t Bother to Knock` directed by Britiish director Roy Ward Baker.

At the time Bancroft was called `Marne` or something similar. Her birth name is `Italiano`.

So Yoko asked Paul and Linda for help in gettinb John back from te `Missing Weekend`. LOL! Because (I believe) it was Ringo and Barbara Bach who conspired to set up John with another Bond girl (Maud Adams).

When researching for `The Other Side of Lennon` by Sandra Shevey I was informed that at the time he was shot John was actively pursung Maud Adams.

Thank you George. Thank you for validating what I have said over 100 times on Facebook and Twitter and elsewhere.

IT WAS JOHN`S BAND. Lennon knew inside out what he wanted musically, lyrically, commercially. JOHN hired Paul and George and Brian Epstein.

Any of the above could and would have been replaced at a moment`s notice if they failed to fit into John`s viewpoint if they ovrerstepped or diverted.

Amazing they lasted as long as they did. Cause when Paul got involved with the Eastmans and began dictating terms, Lennon called a halt and bolted.

End of the Beatles.

12 hrs is the longest interview that John ever gave and he gave it to Sandra Shevey, a freelance writer, in 1972 at Bank STreet NYC. The interview appeared in the Chicago Tribune Syndicate (60 newspapers) and `Ladies Home Journal International`. Did anyone catch me online last week being interviewed on the Museums Show by Sal St. George?

The interview was about Alfred Hitchcock, my interview with the director and the tour The Alfred Hitchcock Walk.

St. George interviewed me along with his son Darren and Dareen`s wife Cassandra (wrongly named)

I was pleased with my appearance inasmuch as without any briefing or questions I came up some concepts even I had not spouted or cogitated before.

Bloggers were in the chat room and followed us. Some may have had antisemite or antifeminist agendas because part way through St. George said (on air) `Your views are offensive to some of our followers`.

My G-d. What did he expect? Why have me on as a guest if I`m trite, repetitive and take my stuff from others? I was invited because of my uniquenss and special relationship with understanding of Hitchcock.

The upshot is that my follow-up appearance ie discussing John Lennon and `The Other Side of Lennon` has been cancelled.

I wonder if St. George realizes how the N**i menace and Boycott, Divest and Sanction took hold in America? Orson Welles said Americans collaborated because they did not want to lose their swimming pools.

So true. All St. George would have had to have said to the blogge4rs with agenda is that Sandra, like the rest of us, is entitled to an opinion and we will be inviting her back.

But he did not. America as before takes the coward`s way out.

Alfred Hitchcock`s great-grandmother was born `Pike`. Thus we could be related by marriage inasmuch as my aunt married a `Pike`.
