Ahh the things you see out on the road

I came upon this truck nose off the the ditch ( I don't know how it got there)

The guy in the pickup truck was kind enough to offer to pull the truck out .

All we had was one ratchet strap. I tied the strap up high on the frame then low to the hitch on the truck . That was the pickup was pulling down helping the rear tandems grip and the big truck could help itself out of the ditch .

Always crazy things you come upon ! no injuries!

Mt Airy, NC very beautiful day !

If you are ever in the the area I recommend a visit .

Take the squad car tour $35 per car as many as you can pack in .

visit the old jail next door plus the many shops downtown, Just not on a Sunday most everything is closed ..

Deals deeply in the history from prehistoric animals to Indians to the Civil War and the space race.

Admission is only $5 for adults

they have a small theater to watch various movies on the area usually 10 mins long per video and very informative.

A " former" Salt community

Indians worked this area up to 10,000 years ago
they harvested salt from the springs that fed small lakes .

The Indians traded salt to other Indian group from the Gulf coast to Maine and points beyond

There is evidence or a lot of prehistoric life here.

In Saltville,VA

These lakes are a nice stop and a nice park for the locals.

These lakes exist because of the salt mines that were here in the 1800s

The companies would pump water in the pipe that would push salt water to the surface . They then would boil the water leaving the salt,

That then left a void which lowered the ground level making these shallow lakes, Only about 5 feet deep.
