The fall colors have peaked in the areas surrounding our mountainside - and this years colors have not disappointed! The whole yard of our little cabin seems to just ✨glow✨this time of year. We still have some November days open for those of you looking to escape pre-holiday season! And if you’re extra lucky you’ll still have a touch of fall color!

Did you see our front bedroom update? Believe it or not, this is the bigger room of our two bedrooms in our small and cozy little cabin! Now that we’ve ditched a bed with a footboard and side rails, we’ve gained precious space in here!! A simple update that was a ✨major✨upgrade!

What’s your favorite part of warm weather seasons at a cabin in the mountains?

For us it’s spending ALL our time relaxing out here - meals at the table, cocktails at the sofa, afternoon naps, or relaxing late at night… stargazing from the hot tub…we are ready for it all

We’ve spent our long Easter weekend doing lots and lots of springtime maintenance here at the cabin. While we love cozying up here for stays in the winter - the warm weather days are where it’s at. But honestly… each new incoming season is always our favorite season!

We’ve spread over 60 bags of mulch, unloaded fresh gravel for the driveway, freshened up the hardscape paths & firepit, washed all the windows, added a few more plants (hopefully those spring cold snaps and snow are gone), and in less exciting news even had our septic tank pumped 🙃

We can’t wait to welcome our springtime guests, and can’t wait to be back up again ourselves next month!

Or maybe you’re planning on spending an afternoon at one of the wineries nearby, or a picnic in a park or on the parkway? Ask about the picnic & lunch boxes! You name it - they’ve got you covered!

It’s been quite a long minute since we’ve shared anything here, it can be hard to find time for Instagram sometimes between life, work, wedding planning, side projects, and hosting two airbnbs! But, we’re here now and thought we’d let anyone new know a bit more about this cabin your following

⚡️It was built in 1965, and was part of a set of kit cabins used by contractors in our area to live in while they built a lot of the other homes in Seven Devils
⚡️576 square feet - it’s SMALL! Although we think that’s what adds to its charm and coziness, and it seems most of our guests agree
⚡️We have a breathtaking view of Grandfather Mountain (some days it still stops us in our tracks when the light hits it in a new way or the clouds are doing something crazy)
⚡️2 bedrooms, 1 bath
⚡️Fully updated and remodeled kitchen (everything you need, nothing you don’t)
⚡️Fully remodeled bathroom (it’s a small bathroom, but all that you need for a quick getaway)
⚡️Hidden washer and dryer (lots of hiking and exploring means you might have to do laundry, even on vacation!)
⚡️Electric Fireplace (the previous owner filled the chimney in with rocks, and after years of neglect it became unusable anyways - BUT we scrubbed and scrubbed and cleaned up the beautiful original stone.
⚡️An 18’ x 24’ deck (not included in the sq footage) that we added on so that you can spend ALL your time outdoors enjoying the beautiful North Carolina mountain views.)
⚡️Five areas outside to sit and enjoy the outdoors and soak in the view. (Six if you count the hot tub!)
⚡️Perfect for two, and spacious enough for 4 (especially comfortable for 4 when the weather is nice)
⚡️Perfectly placed between all the areas you’re likely planning to visit, and far enough away to feel far away from it all!

Dates are open through May, and the remainder of summer will open next month. Come experience the most amazing time of year 🖤

All this snowy weather has been fun &
beautiful (buuuut also maybe too much is a little bit of a headache to be honest) - it also has us looking forward to spring! 🍃 ☀️ 🌳

Did you know there’s a trail that goes under the swinging bridge on Grandfather Mountain? We were there on a very windy day recently (40 mile gusts!!) - sound on to hear the bridge “singing” . 🌲 ⛰ View from atop MacRae Peak on Grandfather Mountain ⛰ 🌲 . The 64th Grandfather Mountain Highland Games were all set to kick off tomorrow, but they’ve been cancelled this year - SO the countdown begins to next years games! . If you’re unfamiliar, the Highland Games is a 4 day Scottish festival and gathering of clans held each year in MacRae Meadows at the foot of Grandfather Mountain - the largest gathering of clans in the world actually. A weekend filled with dancing, music, bagpipes, drums, caber tossing competitions, “The Bear” race for runners to the top of Grandfather mountain along with a marathon, and lots tartan plaids and plenty of good times. It’s not to be missed. They will be streaming past and live performances over the weekend on their FB and YouTube channels - so tune in and check it out!
