Therme Bucharest
Therme Bucharest is Europe’s largest wellness and entertainment complex, attracting over 1 million visitors each year.
The spa is open from 10 AM to 11 PM Monday through Thursday, 9 AM to midnight on Fridays and Saturdays, and 9 AM to 1 PM on Sundays.
We visited and purchased an Elysium ticket, which grants access to the Elysium Zone, reserved for adults only. This area features 10 saunas, including six themed options like the Himalayan, Alhambra, and Hollywood saunas.
There is also a unique Calla shower, designed like a giant bouquet of Calla lilies, where guests can refresh after a sauna session.
Additionally, the Elysium Zone includes a panoramic indoor mineral pool, a Thai restaurant, and both indoor and outdoor relaxation spaces.
Elysium Zone ticket holders have access to both the Galaxy and Palm Zones.
The Galaxy Zone is designed for children and boasts numerous slides, while the Palm Zone is for adults and offers a range of wellness and relaxation options. These include three mineral pools, an outdoor jacuzzi, a steam room, hydro-massage beds, and sun loungers.
In the warmer months, the Sunrise Terrace provides a perfect spot for lounging under the sun.
The main pool at the Palm Zone is open year-round, with both indoor and outdoor settings and water maintained at a comfortable 33ºC. It also features a jacuzzi and a pool bar serving exquisite cocktails.
One of my favourite areas of the Palm Zone is the Rainforest Sauna, the only wet sauna in the area that creates the sensation of being in a rainforest.
Another highlight is the Sands of Therme beach, the largest urban beach in Europe, complete with palm trees and hammocks.
Visitors can also participate in wellness activities like yoga and Pilates, and enjoy the therapeutic benefits of the Hydro Massage Beds.
There are also plenty of dining options at the Humboldt restaurant which offers a variety of international dishes.

Peleș Castle
Peleș Castle is a Neo-Renaissance palace located in the Royal Domain of Sinaia within the Carpathian Mountains, Romania.
It is part of a vast architectural ensemble along the Peles river valley, created by the first King of Romania, Carol I of Hohenzollern – Sigmaringen during the entire period of his reign between 1873 and 1914.
It is currently owned by King Michael, Romania's last monarch.
During 1890 - 1914 the castle was transformed and enlarged.
It was the first castle in Europe to have central heating and electricity.
The castle is a popular location for films and has been featured in various movies including “Royal Matchmaker,” “A Princess for Christmas” and “A Christmas Prince.”
It’s absolutely stunning inside and outside and most definitely worth a visit if you are in Romania.

🇹🇩 📚 Cärturesti Carusel Book Shop
Bucharest boasts one of the most elegant bookshops in the world Cärturesti Carusel.
Located in the city centre inside an old 19th-century bank, it’s been beautifully modernised throughout.
This amazing book store is spread across 6 floors and is filled with bookcases that hold endless books on all different kinds of topics.
It’s an incredible space filled with, staircases, iron railings and so much natural light.
On the top floor there is a coffee shop where you can enjoy fantastic views of the city.
You can also read and relax, buy ecological food, wine and a variety of gifts.
It's heaven for book lover's and a must do if visiting Bucharest !
Van Gogh Cafe Bucharest
Van Gogh Cafe is a quirky restaurant nestled in the heart of Bucharest.
The cafe is worth a visit to admire the impressive interior,
however the food was not as impressive has the building.
There are much nicer places to eat in Bucharest.
I tried the omelette and although it was tasty it was served nearly cold, the presentation was average and the plate had a huge chip in it. If I was to return it would just be for a drink.
The cafe is very popular so I recommend booking in advance if you decide to go, to ensure you do not miss out.

Hamsa Beach Club Zakynthos 🪬🏝️🍸
Hamsa is my favourite beach club and food spot in Zakynthos.
Located in Laganas on the beach, overlooking the bay it boasts incredible views.
The atmosphere is relaxing and chilled with music playing both during the day and night.
The beach club has its own little boutique, a lush pool, relaxing sun beds and a beach area with direct access to the sea.
They serve a wide selection of refreshing drinks, from energy drinks to cocktails and Greek or international wines. Shisha is also available.
There are 3 menus available sushi, brunch and the main a la carte, offering a variety of dishes, including vegan options.
The food is delicious and cooked to perfection using high quality ingredients.
Hamsa is the perfect spot to relax with amazing food and drinks. If you are off to Zakynthos try it out you will not be disappointed.

Skinari, Zakynthos Greece
Skinari is located at the most northernly tip of Zakynthos island near the famous Shipwreck Cove and Blue Caves.
At Skinari you will find 2 Windmills, a Taverna and a Lighthouse. The two old flour grinding Windmills have been converted into places to stay.
The views across the Ionian sea, to the island of Kefalonia and down to the Blue Caves below are amazing.
You can also take boat trips from Skinari to The Blue Caves and Shipwreck Cove.
It is definitely worth a visit if you are in Zakynthos. 🇬🇷💙
