A real life Bambi moment!

The best part of being on safari is never knowing what you will see, and when!

To the rider’s and horse’s astonishment, last week a little baby Nyala popped out of the bush and latched on to the horses.

The adorable little thing had got confused about who his mum was! The horses gave him some sniffles and nuzzles of encouragement, before he found his real mum, who was waiting nearby in the bush.

If it was up to us he would have been straight in a saddle bag and carted off home!

Just another day of adventure and magical memories for our volunteers on the Horse Safari Volunteer Experience!

FEEDBACK: Horse Safari Volunteer Experience

🇬🇧 Louise Saul, from the UK, took two weeks away from her job exercising polo ponies at home, and volunteered in Mpumalanga, South Africa. 🇿🇦

Here’s what she had to say about her experience:

‘I had an amazing time on the Horse Safari Volunteer Experience. The horses were so much fun to ride and I was really impressed how sure footed they were across any terrain.
Tamlyn and Rebecca were both wonderful guides who knew so much about the landscape and wildlife and were brilliant at using every little clue to help guide our rides towards some amazing wildlife sightings. Of course part of the adventure is not knowing what you might see each day but I had plenty of unique wildlife sightings that I will never forget.
Thank you for making me feel so at home and welcome from the minute I arrived, I hope to come back sometime’.

✨ Louise’s favourite experience:
‘When we were just heading out to ride at Nkomazi we heard on the radio that the lions were coming towards the horse pen, so rode into the horse pen and got to see them walking round the perimeter whilst we were in there which was very cool!’

RIDE 4 BLACK RHINO!

🇳🇦 Volunteers wanted!

We have been absolutely itching to announce this one, as rhinos are just our absolute favorite!

We are looking for some lucky volunteers, to spend 8-12 weeks at Kuzikus Game Reserve, Namibia, volunteering with riding safari horses and guests.

🦏 8 Weeks: GBP £400
🦏 12 Weeks: GBP £500

Cost covers accommodation and food.

⭐️ We urgently need a volunteer from 1st October for 8-12 weeks. (Other dates also available, get in touch). ⭐️

Assist with safari rides, and help care for the herd of ten amazing safari horses between rides, in return for a truly amazing experience, with plenty of riding!

There are very few horse safaris out there that allow you to ride with rhino, and especially the critically endangered black rhino. Other species on the reserve that you will encounter from the saddle include giraffe, zebra, wildebeest, kudu, springbok, hyena, pangolins, aardvarks, ostrich and impala to name but a few!
