Call it serendipitous.

The family went to the mall yesterday for some . caught my eye so I said to JP "Let's go in", particularly for the products.

I was looking for a sunscreen in preparation for my trip to next week.

And then Will invited us if we would like to attend their Eminence Masterclass. I am so glad I said yes.
I learned so much in that two hours and I walked away with my own skin-care routine.

Being a "transplant" to Calgary, I'm not sure what to expect for the upcoming winter but now I have ways to protect not only my skin but my girls as well.

Come check them out. They're a great bunch of people and are mindful of health and wellness for the community.

Love Notes from our Lovely Couple

Planning a destination wedding when you haven't been to the country, let alone the resort, can be nerve-racking and stressful. I didn't know what to expect when my now husband and I agreed on having a destination wedding in Cancun.

Joanna and I used to work together in the hospital and what I remember of her was that she was detail-oriented, organized and always a pleasure to work with so when I found out that she was now in the wedding/travel industry, I knew she would be the perfect person to contact. I am a person who likes options and to make my own decisions and choices but with guidance and suggestions - from the beginning of the planning process Joanna explored what I wanted in not only for a wedding, but the resort/vacation that I envisioned. She helped start and develop an online RSVP website for my guests, as well as a planning board website for me to follow along and ensure I meet goals and deadlines during my wedding process. She was such a good support system to have and an amazing liaison between myself and the resort. I took the responsibility of finding my vendors and coordinating with them as I am particular with certain things however Joanna made sure to remind me to ask the vendors certain questions that I tend to overlook. Lastly, booking the resort not only for myself but for my non-English speaking family ended up being seamless as the information and directions Joanna provided were easy and helpful!

Thank you again Joanna, for keeping me on track and supporting me through this wild ride - our wedding ended up being beautiful and a day I'll always remember :)

When you work with a travel advisor, the wedding coordinator, and the onsite wedding planner, great things happen.

You have to put a lot of trust in your team, and that can be worrisome. Imagine having to explain your wedding vision via virtual calls.

Fortunately for our clients, we set systems and organization up in place so that they can easily communicate their wedding vision with the wedding planning team making the process seamless.

And then of course, our own visit to the resort to meet with the wedding team also eases the worry.

Pro Tip:
Not all travel advisors are the same, so before hiring one, ask them if they specialize in destination weddings like we do.

After a long journey, it's nice to have some refreshments awaiting you in your room.

Have you ever had those moments where you arrive at the resort and you just want to go straight to your room and drop off your luggage but you are hungry and can't be bothered waiting for room service?

Amd then you look around in your room and find a welcome letter and some delectable items on your table.

What a nice touch!

"Welcome amenities" are one of the ways we can elevate our clients' experience during their travels.

Are you comparing oranges to oranges?

This is one of the conversations I have with potential clients.

👇They've spent some time online doing their own research and they come back to me saying “Hey, I found this for [X] dollars less on the internet.”

This is where we get down to the nitty-gritty details where I ask "What exactly did you see online?" Almost every single time, without fail, the options they find include non-refundable hotel rates and basic economy seats.

And while it is true, that they may have some up-front savings, it can get complicated, not to mention, expensive, if travel plans need to change.

Much like the "as-is" section in Ikea. You get what you get.

So yes, what we propose is probably 'more expensive' but in exchange for that is the ability to customize and cater to your needs and the flexibility to change should we need to.

How far in advance should you book a vacation?

Honestly, it depends on the season and the destination in question. But if you ask me, sooner is always better than later.

Planning in advance means:
1. Having more options for your accommodations, tours and flights.
2. You are able to secure reservations much easier.
3. We can get better value and potential inclusions as perks.

What could possibly go wrong when booking accommodations?

Prior to working as a travel advisor, I have made mistakes that caused me headaches.

What I have learned is to read, re-read and triple check my reservations.

I've listed some of my mistakes here. Can you relate?

📅 I accidentally picked the wrong dates.

📍 I booked a hotel but forgot to double-check the location. (The railway track was behind the hotel!)

🏨 I was misled by outdate pictures online.

❌ I booked an Air B&B and they cancelled on us 24 hours before we arrived. So much stress scrambling to find a place to stay.

Destination Wedding - one month countdown is on! ☀️

I’m especially excited for my wedding couple and their family and friends who are heading to Mexico for their special day.

They‘ve been planning their destination wedding for a year. And even though we had hiccups along the way, I never get tired of helping clients bring their travel dreams to life, and I couldn‘t be excited for them. 🥂

12 years ago was my very first trip to Hawaii with JP and his family. It was a make it or break it trip. 😆

I fell in love with the different hues of the ocean and the deep greens of the mountains.

We did our own food tours from acai bowls, shave ice, udon, poke, shrimp trucks and to our now beloved L&L comfort food.

We celebrated our engagement on my birthday.

JP introduced this lovely lady's art to me. We loved her work so much that we asked her to create a special piece for Julianna.

12 years later, we got to meet her in person. She is as lovely in person as her works of art -- full.of joy, positivity and vibrant life.

And after all these years, this cute halter dress of mine still fits!

Happy Holidays!

As 2023 comes to a close, we want to thank you for the support and love you have given us this past year.

This year has been a year of growth from all fronts -- mental, physical, emotional.

I traveled to for the first time in May and fell in love even more with it -- the culture, the food, the people. It also tested our relationship. As I went on to this business trip, JP held the fort at home. It wasn't easy but we're thankful for technology as we got chances to do video calling in between the workshops.

Our daughters are starting to understand that even though I was far from them that I am only a phone call away. I admit the separation anxiety was higher on my end.

As 2024 rolls in and opportunities open up, I feel good that they have a better understanding of what we are trying to accomplish with our travel business.

With this time of reflection, we ask: What is your 2024 word-of-the-year?

Packing hacks I live by 🧳 As I nurse, I try to be prepared for some sort of emergency so I always have a pre-packed set of the following in a small ziplock and it gets tucked inside my carry-on. Tylenol, Advil, Benadryl, Gravol, Gaviscon Glucose tabs, Bandaids, Hair elastics, Hand sanitizer wipes, ginger chews, throat lozenges, chewing gum, essential oil rollers and nail cutter.
