Reposted from Bundi is a district in the Hadoti region of Rajasthan state in northwest India. Stone Age tools dating from 5,000 to 200,000 years were found in Bundi and Bhilwara districts of the state.
Photograph is taken from Bundi fort popularly known as Taragarh fort. Taragarh Fort is gigantic architecture nestled in Bundi district. Also known as Star Fort, it was constructed in the 16th century. Inside the ramparts are huge reservoirs carved out of solid rock, and the Bhim Burj on which famous cannon is constructed. Built at an elevation of 1,426-foot, it houses a highly regarded painting gallery from where the Bundi style of mural painting was originated.

A 6 hour train ride followed by a 1/2 hrs auto ride lands you in Orchha.
The medieval capital of erstwhile bundela kingdom.
Bundela kings were sure fond of architectural buildings and really helped carve out the bundela style of architecture.
Today's Orchha is a sleepy town and I suspect it has always been like that. Surrounded by thick forests it has a skyline dotted with temples. You will find a medieval building, cenotaph or a temple in any direction you point your head and the great thing is almost every single one is unique in itself.

Built in 10th century, Ranthambore Fort is nested deep inside the National park. Not only its Rajputana Architecture but the views of the national park from here left us mesmerised!!!

This trip of ours to ranthambore amazed us in so many ways. Seeing a tiger, exploring a few lesser known local places, visiting nearby Chambal for Crocodile and birds Safari definitely increased the charm of the trip.

The Stepped Tank/Pushkaranis in Hampi are sacred water tanks attached to the temples. Almost all the main temples have these built near them.

These tanks were related to various rituals and functional aspects of the temples and were considered to be sacred in the ancient times.

Note: No entry fees, no fixed timings.

Offering water bowl is generally a tradition of Tibetan Buddhism..
These are an antidote to greed and attachment and can include charity, donation and shrine offerings.
The significance of offering seven water bowls is to create the cause to achieve the seven limbs or aspects or qualities of the "Vajradhara" state enlightenment.
But this doesn't mean we can't offer more.
