🌟Tuesday Disney / Universal Tip🌟

On my most recent Disney trip, we averaged walking 9.5 miles per day. In the past we’ve walked even more than that, some less. But one thing you definitely need when going to Disney or Universal is good walking shoes! I used to be one that could wear flip flops and do just fine. Now at 36 years old, I can’t even fathom that thought 😅 A few years ago I wore my usual Nike women’s flip flops that I’ve worn to the parks tons of times in the past - I ended up with blisters covering the sides and bottoms of my feet to the point I could barely walk in the airport to get home. I don’t know what changed between that trip and trips prior, but I realized I definitely needed to up my shoe game for park days now! I bought some nice Adidas sneakers and put some insoles in, and it definitely helped! However towards the end of that trip my feet were still hurting terribly towards the end, making it hard to enjoy the last part of my vacation. So what I have learned to do now, is take multiple pairs of shoes to change out through the park days. Now I have the Adidas with insoles, a nice pair of tennis shoes with insoles, and a comfortable pair of slides. On this last trip I’d alternate the shoe I was wearing at least once a day and it made a HUGE difference! I still ended up with a couple blisters, but that’s why I ALWAYS recommend mole skin and bandaids on these trips! (I include this in my pre-travel email with packing tips, and the gift shops at the resorts sell mole skin if you forget!) With those and alternating shoes, I was able to fully enjoy this trip without frequent sitting breaks and dealing with pain.

From your travel agent that knows better… DON’T forget your bug spray!! I always recommend it for clients, but have never personally had issues. This trip I didn’t bring any, and I have been eaten alive! Lesson learned to practice what I preach 😅 But don’t end up like me itchy and miserable in 95° heat!

One thing I’m focusing a lot on this trip is ways to find souvenirs that aren’t your typical cup, shirt, hat, or toy - not that there’s ANYTHING wrong with those 😊 But sometimes it’s nice to find something else! These can be found at the Behind the Seeds tour booth - you get starts of plants started in Living With The Land to take home and grow yourself! These are $14 and come with everything to get them home safe and alive, and there’s different options to choose from depending on what they bring in that day
