Ooo La La ❤️ by far my favourite abode in the South of France ~ the beautiful and breathtaking Grand-Hotel du Cap Ferrat just outside of Nice, France on the Mediterranean. WOW. Just WOW. A hidden Gem - Le Castellet Village. Up on a hilltop with breathtaking views - a very quaint French village with beautiful lanes and streets filled with charm, art galleries, artisan shops, ice cream and little restaurants. Super busy in the summer, however, in the shoulder seasons, you can enjoy the magic of this little village and almost have it all to yourself. Magical.

We take a pause from Ireland posts to share some spectacular highlights of Bergamot Travels’ glorious week in the South of France. What a spectacular sight for the eyes: where you can bike, hike, walk, swim, kayak, paddleboard, sail and more in this piece of heaven. Such breathtaking beauty. We took a private boat from the Port of Cassis and meandered through three Calanques and viewed the massive limestone ‘Mediterranean Fjords’. Such incredible beauty and feeling of peace. WOW. Just WOW. A little more time and we would have swam in the private cove only accessible by hike, walk, kayak or paddleboard. Weather was perfect! Pro Tip: let us arrange the perfect day in Cassis, Le Ciotat and the surrounding area. Photographers get ready!

Hands down my favourite hotel in Dublin excellent location overlooking St. Steven’s Green (Dublin’s mini Central Park), walking distance to everything and right across the street - O’Donoghues 🥃Such amazing history and stories. The place to be seen, people watch and a place to not be seen. It has it all. Even a covered terrace room! My kind of place! Giant’s Causeway in Northern Ireland. This dramatic sight has inspired legends of giants striding over the sea to Scotland. Quite a remarkable piece of beauty. There’s about 40,000 basalt columns that interconnect so you walk and climb them. No glass partitions or ropes to see them from afar. Totally hands-on! Amazing!! Watch your step as they can get pretty slippery from the rain and mist. So interesting that in Ireland and Europe and beyond, visitors can very much enjoy a hands on experience with trust that visitors will use common sense and respect and know their physical abilities and limitations. Love it.

A quick stop for lunch at the Bushmills Inn before heading to the Giant’s Causeway. Delicious food and great company! Lots of laughs and stories to share. Enjoyed a blueberry tea to warm me up ☕️ (black tea with a shot of Grand Mariner and a shot of Amaretto). Delicious!!!

First stop on this full itinerary: the beautiful Malahide Castle and Gardens about 20 minutes from Dublin airport. Quite an amazing history and ever so beautiful grounds. Truly a masterpiece. I could spend hours wandering through these gardens and read my book snuggled under a tree.
