Salt Museum | Nakhchivan

Shirvanshah palace.

The palace complex was built from the XIII century to the XVI century.The palace was built during the reign of Shirvan ruler I Khalilullah .The construction of the complex is based on the ancient traditions of the Shirvan-Absheron school of architecture. In 2000, the unique architectural and cultural complex was included in the UNESCO World Heritage List together with the historical part of Baku surrounded by fortress walls - the Old City and the Maiden's Tower.

Maral-gol mountainous lake at the height of 1910 m. on Murovdag Mountain in the west of Azerbaijan. The lake occupies the territory of 23 hectares with utmost depth of 60 m. Maralgol is connected with another unique beautiful mountain lake Goygol via Akhsu river. Strong earthquake led to the creation of this lake is created where the rocks collapsed and blocked the route of the local river. The lake is surrounded with the marshland, typical moorland, mountains and dense forests. It is considered as one of the most beautiful and picturesque places in the country out of other eight neighboring mountain lakes.

"Diribaba" tomb

The tomb was built in 1402 by the order of the ruler of Shirvan Sheikh Ibrahim.In the 30s of the XVII century, the Iranian ambassador Adam Oleari and the Dutch traveler Cornelius Devrin visited the tomb.
During the visit, they made notes about the tomb and drew a picture of the tomb.

Novruz holiday

Kalagai is a rectangular silk dress worn by women in Azerbaijan.The history of Kalagai dates back to the V-VI centuries, but became more widespread in the XII-XIII centuries.As early as the Middle Ages, kalagai appeared on the world market, and many European travelers and poets spoke of kalagai in their works.Kalagai was included in the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage List in 2014.

Gadabay, Galakend bridge.

In 1879, the Siemens brothers built the first 28-meter-long Gadabay-Galakend railway in the Caucasus. Along the way, the train crossed 7 bridges. In time, these bridges collapsed as a result of both human and natural disasters. It is a bridge from them to the present day and is protected as a historical monument. Local stones were used in the construction of the bridge and it was built in the form of an arch.
