Yesterday we explored the beautiful Beatenberg! ❄❄❄

Just few kilometers from Interlaken, we took the cable car to go up to 1950 meters, where sparking blue sky, sunshine and breathtaking view to the nearby mountains welcomed us!

From there, we took the longest and most attractive winter hiking trail on the Niederhorn. We walked on flat and well-prepared paths along the ridge towards Burgfeld, with a stunning panorama on each side. The Justistal was on the left and the well-known Bernese alps above Lake Thun were on the right. The small snow-covered fir tree forest we passed looked magical in these surroundings.

Last weekend we kicked off the winter program with an awesome snowshoe hike.

We had a lot of fun with a small but enthusiastic group (and a sportive, I was chasing them from the back all the time 😉)

Good company, sun, snow, nature, and winter magic made the day perfect!

And to answer the question, you can burn 400-700 calories per hour depending on the intensity of the snowshoeing activity 😉⁠

I am not picky; I enjoy winter basically everywhere in the nature 😊 ⁠

A short afternoon winter walk in Vue des Alpes, discovering the nature in snowshoes, sledding followed a fondue in les Diablerets, or spend a night in a traditional mountain hut in the heart of the mountains surrounded by snowy peaks and breathtaking panorama, I am content!☃⁠

After being outside in a cold winter day I like to stop by at an authentic mountain restaurant to warm up with some hot wine or hot chocolate. ☕️⁠

In a nice, sunny day I even fancy sitting in its terrace cocooned in a blanket enjoying the spectacular mountain panorama. ☀️⁠

For me, winter fun is everything outdoors. Hiking, skiing, sledging, or snowshoeing, I am in!!!!!⁠

For me it was in April, when I spent a long weekend in Saas-Grund area, @ Weissmieshuette. ⁠
⁠
It was such a great experience, as being in the last days of the winter season, the ski lifts were not operating anymore and there was barely anyone in the mountains. I could fully enjoy the beauty and tranquility of the surrounding Alps. ⁠
⁠
Not to mention, spending a night (or two) in one of the mountain chalets, in the middle of the Swiss Alps, surrounded by snowy peaks and breathtaking panorama is simply magical, I think it is a must experience for everyone loves nature. ⁠
⁠
As a cherry on top, I had an opportunity to see plenty of marmots from a very close distance, they just woke up from their winter hibernation and did not seem to be afraid at all!⁠
⁠
The snow has arrived again, I am so looking forward for new adventures! ⁠
