Happy World Tourism Day

We can't change our history, but we can learn from it -

Hope someday this man, Mr. Tony Hussein Hinde gets some recognition as he created and put the Maldives on the map as a new surfing destination.

In 1973 almost 50 years ago he surfed his way into the Maldives. Tony surfed his last wave 14 years ago at Pasta Point. He left behind a legacy that continues to grow and provide endless funds and a significant source of income for a beautiful nation. The current estimated market value for the surf industry in the Maldives is approximately over $50 million annually.

He created a new destination for surfing in Maldives. His vision Atoll Adventures is still running as the No. 1 surf operator in the Maldives.

Surfing Legend, Gentleman and Adventurer, a friend to be remembered. He’s sadly missed and remembered with fondness. RIP.
