Hey, friends!

First, let me say again how grateful I am to the families who trust me with their trips. This week, I had clients leave on a RCCL cruise (we have been tracking Hurricane Beryl almost every second!) and a family at WDW/Universal celebrating both a first trip and a special birthday. I was also able to get some great dining reservations for Sept. WDW clients, plus booked what I think will be a super fun, adults-only trip to WDW for the Food & Wine Festival & MNSSHP.

Thank you to those families, the families who refer me to their friends & families, and to those repeat clients who keep coming back! You guys are helping me live my dream of taking care of you.

If you haven’t booked a trip with me, but have considered it, remember:

1. Booking with me is FREE for you.

2. Yes, I love to book Disney, but I also love booking Universal, cruises, all-inclusive resorts, and other destinations.

3. Because I book directly with most suppliers, the price I see is the price you see! Booking with me doesn’t always get a “better deal” (again, I see what you see for the most part—unless you’re looking at a VRBO or Air B&B), but gets you those services you may not always receive elsewhere. I do, however, work to get you the best price I can and can apply promos after booking to help save you money.

4. Yes, you can do it yourself. But you don’t have to! I can also advocate for you with suppliers when you don’t have the time or energy to wait on hold.

5. I will always cry when you send me pictures or videos of your kids seeing the castle for the first time, or opening their surprise gift, or meeting the characters. That necessarily isn’t a reason to book with me, but just please send me all the pictures.

Sitka—Juneau—Haines

Of these, Juneau was our favorite in terms of food and what we did—the Goldbelt Tram! We love the Red Dog Saloon & the views after riding the tram were absolutely amazing.

We had no excursions booked or anything planned (besides Red Dog) for our stops. Sitka & Haines were beautiful, but there wasn’t much within walking distance for us (at least within what my 9-year-old calls walking distance in Alaska), and we didn’t love the spots we had for lunch at either of those spots.

We spent seven days on Royal Caribbean’s Brilliance of the Seas. I was a little worried about the ship itself because it is a smaller, somewhat older ship and I usually like a bigger ship. However, I thought Brilliance was overall well-maintained and very clean.

Pros:
✨The crew was amazing! Everyone we encountered was friendly and helpful. Our room steward was great, the bartenders would recognize you promptly even if they couldn’t get to you right away, and our main dining (I’ll say it again) waiters (Rommel & Ian) were the best.
✨There were lots of activities around the ship: scavenger hunts, family games, varied types of trivia (general, Disney, Star Wars, and even The Simpsons!), there was even a cinema on board. Plus the main entertainment at night.
✨There were lots of outdoor activities as well, like the rock-climbing wall, table tennis, mini-golf, pickleball, and obviously the pool, but it was a bit windy during our sea days.
✨We all really enjoyed the food in the main dining room. The teriyaki salmon was my favorite (plus the soup!).
✨Our cabin was amazing. My favorite one so far!
✨Aly loved the kid’s club!

Cons:
☕️ The ship coffee did not do it for me.
🍔 Windjammer mac & cheese disappointed me. I know this is picky, but it looked so good but had zero flavor.
🥤 There were no Coke Freestyle Machines (however, water was easily available at Windjammer all day plus (again) lines at the bars for sodas were always manageable).
🏔️Our balcony overhang didn’t give me the full view I wanted.

I get asked a lot about my favorite WDW resort.

Guess what?

I don’t have one!

I have spent at least one night in at 8 different resorts and I have never had a bad stay!

I think what we want from resorts depends on what we want out of our trip. I love the Skyliner access at Caribbean Beach, but I love the functional rooms at Coronado Springs. I love the theming of All-Star Movies, but catching that monorail at the Poly for the half & full marathons during D***y was so convenient.

Are you spending most of your time at the parks and only using your room to sleep and get ready for the day? Or, are you saving time to enjoy the pools and restaurants where you are staying? In which parks will you spend the most time? Sure, Caribbean Beach is lovely, but if you are only going to Magic Kingdom or Animal Kingdom, you might benefit from a different spot!

Budget is obviously a big factor when determining resort! Can you go during a cheaper time? Do you qualify for specific promos like Disney Plus subscriber or Disney Visa cardholder?

My husband’s favorite is now Fort Wilderness, with Wilderness Lodge right behind. My daughter’s is the Tiki Hotel (AKA Poly) with All-Star Movies next!

I think a great thing about these resorts is there is something for everyone, no matter where you stay.

And as I always say, you know your family best!

🎉 Throwback Thursday🎉

Throwing it way back to October 2016 to my very first trip to Magic Kingdom!

While we had an unbelievably magical time, I have two regrets. The first one is easy enough to fix: look at the park hours! I didn’t know the park would close at 6:00pm that night for Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party. The lesson here is to ALWAYS check park hours, but especially during the party seasons (essentially August-December).

The second is something I now advise all families on: don’t let the stress outweigh the magic. It seems so silly now, but I was so focused on getting us to our rides and attractions in time to use our Fast Passes that I didn’t truly take it all in.

I didn’t stroll down Main Street, I power-walked. I didn’t let Aly get out and run around on the hub grass. I have pictures of us on the teacups, but I can’t remember her little face during the ride.

I do remember this picture, though. I remember her little voice singing along with Elsa and I remember how excited she was to see Olaf. I wish I could remember every detail, but for now I will hold this moment in my heart forever.

What advice to do you have for first-timers (or first-time in a long-timers)? Let me know!

Welcome back to my honeymooner clients!

The couple spent 4 nights aboard RCCL’s Liberty of the Seas. Stops included Nassau & a Perfect Day at CocoCay. Here, they opted for the new adults-only section of the island, Hideaway Beach.

Liberty of the Seas is a Freedom class ship that offers no shortage of activities: from water slides to ice-skating to nightly entertainment, you will never be bored. Unless you want to, then there are lots of spots to relax by the pool or find a quiet place to read.
