When we think of Italy, we of course think of the amazing cuisine! Which foods are at the top of your list to try in Rome? Have you ever had a currywurst? This German street food dates back to 1949, when ketchup and curry powder were supposedly obtained from British soldiers stationed in Germany. The two ingredients were mixed together and served over a pork sausage. Nowadays there are many variations of currywurst, and it is generally sold as a take away/fast food meal. Variations include different types of sausages, different spices, such as paprika, added to the sauce and sometimes it is served with fries or bread. Make sure you try as many as you can next time you are in Berlin!
