We first scouted this trip in the spring of 2024 and can't wait to tackle it again with our first official Summit Seeker Expedition in November of 2025. This hotel-only exploration of the Mustang Valley of Nepal offers incredible experiences in the world's tallest mountains - the Great Himalayas. For seven days we venture into deep valleys in search of quaint and ancient villages, unbelievable views, and exciting riding. Nothing too daunting, just challenging enough to keep the adventure authentic. Offered at our lowest fare in years, this is a fantastic value considering we did not trim anything back in terms of service or feature. This trip is offered with the same high standards and uncompromising pursuit of adventure Far Xplorer is known for. With just a few spots left open, you don't want to wait to sign up!

Small groups. Few trips. Bespoke experiences. Many companies in Nepal travel with up to 24 guests per group. To us, that's just crazy and unsafe. We believe our guests deserve highly personalized attention which is why we have the lowest guide-to-guest ratio in Nepal. One-to-one.

And unlike other companies, we don't offer 30 trips per year. The reality is, most companies that list 30 trips a year only sell a fraction of them. It just appears as if they crank out the trips.

We keep things small. We focus on the quality of the - experience - and let others chase high-volume "business."

We think that is why our guests keep coming back again and again. Join us. Let us create the travel experience you deserve.

Do you remember that time you road across a sketchy log bridge under the summit of Dhaulagiri, the 7th tallest mountain on earth at 26,795 feet tall? Some people do. We often say that memories are better than daydreams, and it's absolutely true. Our travelers retell these tales of fun and adventure for years, reliving every moment in technicolor detail.

We're going back to this spot in October of this year and have just FIVE spots left. You should grab one. Make some memories that put even the most dramatic daydreams to shame. Be the adventure.

A Buddhist chorten, like the many we see on route to Upper Mustang during our Journey to Lo Manthang expeditions, is a striking thing to behold. Many, like this one, are massive in scale, often towering 30-40 feet overhead. Found throughout the high Himalayas, they are fascinating structures made of solid packed earth. To think many of these were constructed nearly a thousand years ago, some even earlier, is mind boggling.

At the center of each structure is a wooden pole. Representing the tree of life, it is placed in the center and adorned with precious stones and metals before the heavy earth is packed around it. Other offerings to the spirits are often placed within.

The act of constructing a chorten is reason enough why they were built. The struggle to complete the chorten was said to balance a Karmic scale, maybe as a way of righting past wrongs, or setting a new course in one's life. Once built they are safe havens for passersby, a strong force that keeps evil spirits at bay. To think the chortens here have endured a thousand years puts new context to time. Time passes quickly.

Signing up for a motorcycle tour, anywhere, is tricky business. You may find Company ABC in the US, Canada, or UK offering motorcycle tours in the Himalayas. but Company ABC doesn't know the first thing about the Himalayas. To pull off the tour they take your money to Company XYZ in Nepal. That doesn't mean the local company knows anything about operating tours or has the resources to make the trip reliable or even safe.

Then there are companies like Far Xplorer. We don't need to subcontract with other companies. We are the company. This allows us to raise our standards high and do what no one else can.

So rather than book with Company ABC, which is actually Company XYZ in disguise, ride with us. If you book a trip with Far Xplorer, you get Far Xplorer.

Our guests no longer ride Royal Enfield Classic motorcycles in favor of more modern machines, but our staff just can't seem to part with our Classics. Many people have never heard of Royal Enfield motorcycles, or know that it's the oldest motorcycle company in the world dating to 1901.

This model, now just referred to as the Classic, it has remained largely unchanged since it was first released in 1948. Our expedition leader, Christophe, rides this blue Classic which is a 2018 model. And it is absolutely perfect for the job.

A lot of people wonder why we ride what appears to be a street bike on such rough roads. The fact is, these bikes, made in India for the last half a century, were the first machines to traverse the rugged roads of the Himalayas. They were made for what we do.

In an age of high-tech, big horsepower, highly complex motorcycles, the simplicity of the Classic makes it reliable. And reliable is perhaps the single most important thing to have in remote places like the one pictured here. At this spot, the nearest full-service BMW, KTM, or any other large scale dealer is probably a 35 hour drive away in India.

Isn't it nice that in our complicated age, there is still room for simplicity?

Baba. The Hindu Sadhus of Kathmandu are a splash of cultural color that can't be missed. Many of these men walked to Nepal from distant ashrams in India, some several thousands of miles away. On every Far Xplorer trip we spend at least one full day exploring Kathmandu where these white beards and painted faces can be found. Just one more thing that makes our experiences so interesting and exotic.

A lot of people are freaked out by the idea of riding one of these iconic footbridges in the Himalayas. And sure, some of them are more sketchy looking than others, but we'll let you in on a secret...
..they're not that big of a deal to ride.

In fact, it's pretty easy. If you walk across one, they bounce and wiggle, sway and bob up and down. But not when you ride a motorcycle over them. The smooth roll of the wheels keeps the bridge steady and stable.. It's wider than it looks, and well, pretty easy.

That doesn't mean our guests don't immediately send photos home with the caption, "Almost died today..." Maybe die of fright. :)

This is Annapurna, the 10th tallest mountain on earth at over 26,000 feet tall. Given its close proximity to our home base in Pokhara, our guests are often able to catch this view from one of our favorite hilltops. We definitely go out of our way just a little bit to get this view.

As one of the 14 mountains in the world to exceed 8,000 meters, or 26,250 feet, it's also one of the world's most dangerous to climb. Every year teams from around the globe try their skills, and their luck, scrambling for the summit. It's an endeavor that often takes two months of waiting out bad weather, stashing supplies up high, and fixing ropes to ascend and descend many times over during the campaign. The steepness of the mountain gives it an ominous demeanor, one of continually falling rock and ice. As one climber said, it's a jealous mountain, unwilling to share its summit with just anyone.

It is beautiful. Join us on our upcoming Summit Seeker Expedition in October and we'll put you right up against Annapurna.

If that last spot doesn't call to you, we recently announced our Spring 2026 calendar, so you have a chance to grab one of those opportunities.

Join us in the fall of 2025. Be a part of a select few that get to experience what others only dream of. www.farxplorer.com

We tell our riders that the hardest thing about riding in the Himalayas is getting to where you want to go. Not because the roads are hard, but it's impossible to - not stop - to take in the views. Switchbacks in particular temp us to stop on each successive curve as they climb to better and better views.

Our Summit Seeker expedition is very much one of our more slow-paced rides for this reason. We ride. We stop. We ride. We stop. Each section of both better than the last.

We have a few spots open for our Fall 2025 Summit Seeker Expedition with countless views just like this. www.farxplorer.com

We knew 2025 was going to be a big year of adventure for the Far Xplorer community of travelers. Most of our trips filled up in days, prompting us to add an extra expedition. And now there are only TWO spots left on our epic Summit Seeker Expedition. This is a fantastic trip into the Himalayas to explore tiny roads and ancient villages right on the edge of Tibet. We soar high into the world's largest mountain range spending our days chasing epic views, and our nights nestled into the newest and most authentic mountain lodges in the Mustang Valley. Don't miss your chance - this year - to join us on the ride of a lifetime! Learn more here: https://www.farxplorer.com/lower-mustang-summit-seeker-fall-2025

There was once a rider, a very good one, who thought about riding with us in the Himalayas. He wasn't sure he wanted to ride with a group of strangers, but he made the leap. He's been back to ride with us - two more times and will join our most ambitious ride in the fall. Along the way he has made great and lasting friendships, not just with fellow travelers and our Far Xplorer staff, but with people in Nepal. Best of all, on our last trip in October he brought his amazing wife along.

We say our trips are life changing because they are in more ways than we can ever know. We know for sure, our lives are better since he decided, what the heck, I'll go.

Sometimes you just have to make the leap.
