Coralberry, also known as Indian Currant, is a deciduous shrub native to the Eastern US. It makes for a nice pop of color in the winter months. Scroll to the end to see what it looks like! (📸: Native Tree Farm)

Our Coralberry is a bunk room in the Guest House. The Queen bunk sleeps two and the Twin sleeps one. Black out shades keep it nice and cozy late into the morning, while the closet offers PLENTY of storage. This room houses a small collection of children’s books and games.

Happy Monday!

The last week of 2020. Despite the challenges, we hope you've found a ray of light here or there.

During this year, we saw an influx of families staying with us who were just looking for new scenery and a little spice to the daily routine of virtual school and working from home. We offer Verizon Fios that can accommodate all of those needs. Our main house features a two person office space, and we've made sure our Guest House has a desk for getting work done, writing cards or learning math.

In case you couldn't tell, we LOVE coziness, books, blankets, hot beverages, plants and lamps. This corner is the complete representation of all our favorite things!

Getting away means getting away. We want our guests to feel the invitation to relax and enjoy having nothing to do but what the heart wants to do.

So when the time comes for you to visit with us, we hope you enjoy exploring the area and visiting our neighbors as much as you enjoy relaxing in the home.

The best part of the holiday season?? The food, let's be honest.

In general though, food has a powerful way of bringing folks together. With so many cultures and traditions, a meal together can hold immense meaning.

When we re-imagined the guest house, it was really important to include a dining table that could offer a great meal experience. This meant a table big enough to host every guest staying in the home. The challenge was real in our small space, but Target never fails!

We can't wait to see the table full of food, drinks and smiling faces. Cheers!

The Living Room is the gathering room. The room where everyone comes together to relax and be together, whether it's reading together, watching a movie together or diving into a game night. We wanted the space to feel comfortable, bright, open and offer just the right touches for making memories together.

Good Morning, and Happy "End of the Work Week" for many of you! Maybe you'll be treating yourself to a relaxing evening- winding down and preparing for however you choose to celebrate the holidays this year.

We have been hard at work the past month giving our guest house a facelift. While it won't be officially listed until next week (stay tuned!), we wanted to start sharing little sneak peeks of what we came up with!

First up, one of our favorite pieces, the pouf! We wanted to make sure we had living room seating for our maximum number of guests. In a small space, it didn't make sense to fill every corner with furniture. Here came the versatile pouf! It works as seating, a footrest or even a little side table. And our favorite feature? Durability!

The C&O Canal Towpath is one of our favorite local attractions. The trail is 184 miles following the Potomac River. Always amazed at how unique the trail is along the way. Here is a view of the McMahon's Mill drop in, located near Williamsport, MD. Don't forget to pop over to Antietam Battlefield for a history lesson on your way back!
