Dreaming of the Dolomites✨

We are back in Sedona and life has been busy which is why we haven’t been posting as frequently!

To be honest, we still can’t get over our time in the Dolomites. Almost daily we find ourselves reminiscing in the memories of our favorite places on earth. We have SO many photos and videos to remember our time here but, honestly, the pictures don’t do it justice. There is something truly magical about this mountainous region in Northern Italy.

We are working on our Dolomites blog post and hope to share it soon! In the meantime, we are planning a trip to Glacier National Park. Any tips are welcome! 🏔

Tips for visiting Val di Funes in the Dolomites 🏔

This beautiful valley has some of the most incredible views in the Dolomites!

✨Aldof Munkel Trail — a beautiful 5.7 mile loop and one of our favorite hikes. Make sure to bring cash for the parking and for some of the refugios, and be sure to stop at Geisler Alm for great food and beautiful views.

✨San Giovanni Church (pictured) — park nearby to capture this composition from a viewing platform. The light is best in the afternoon and evening!

✨Santa Maddalena Church — another beautiful church with an incredible mountain backdrop. For the best viewpoint you will have to walk up the Magdalenaweg street ~.75 miles (1.2 km).

After a long day exploring Val di Funes, stop at Restaurant Pizzeria Viel Nois for amazing pizza 🙌🏼

Tips for visiting Alpe di Suisi (Seiser Alm) 🇮🇹

This Dolomite plateau is the largest high-altitude alpine meadow in Europe at 20 square miles (52 square km) with never ending mountain views.

Alpe di Suisi has been on our bucket list for a long time! We’ve dreamed of photographing sunrise here and we got very lucky our first morning with the fog rolling in. However, catching sunrise here can be tricky… so here are a few tips ✨

✨The roads through Alpe di Suisi are closed to non-overnight visitors.

✨You can park at the Compatach parking lot only if you arrive before 9am or after 5pm. From here you can take a shuttle (during specific hours), hike, or bike in to Alpe di Suisi.

✨If you stay at a hotel in Alpe di Suisi, you are permitted to drive in one time to your hotel. This is a great way to stay close to all of the photo spots for sunrise.

✨Alternatively, you can take the gondola from the city of Ortisei. The schedule varies seasonally, but it does not run early enough to catch sunrise!

We highly recommend staying in Alpe di Suisi — especially if you want to photograph sunrise and sunset. It’s such a peaceful and beautiful atmosphere. We stayed at Sporthotel Sonne - - and can’t recommend it enough.

Life update: the past couple months have been crazy! After not seeing our Seattle apartment for a year, and so much time on the road, it was time for a new home base ✨

𝗪𝐞 𝐦𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝐒𝐞𝐝𝐨𝐧𝐚! We’re not here forever, but for now. ⁣

Throughout all of our travels over the past year, we fell in love with two cities. Jackson, WY and Sedona, AZ. We’re so excited to call these red rocks “home” and to continue exploring the southwest 🏜⁣

Thanks to everyone for the DMs checking in on us to make sure everything was alright while we weren’t posting. It’s been a whirlwind, but life is too short not to adventure!

We fell in love with exploring Cape Kiwanda in the backyard of

The Cape juts out into the Pacific with cliffs, tide pools, sand dunes, and rolling hills. We are still looking through all of our photos from one of the most beautiful parts of the West Coast we’ve ever visited!

If you have the chance to travel the Oregon Coast, make sure to stop and explore Cape Kiwanda and the surrounding areas ✨

After a year on the road and staying in a different city every month, we needed something to relax, reset and slow down in nature.

We had a chance to stay at the Coastal Lodge which blew away our expectations. It’s more than just a hotel — it’s an experience. What a wonderful place to take a break and enjoy the longer days as Spring begins.

We highly recommend their Spring Coastal Reset Experience which includes:
✨Three-night stay in an oceanfront room
✨Binoculars and trekking poles for whale watching and adventuring
✨Oregon Pinot Noir Wine Flight and Sweet Treats Plate
✨Two 90-minute Citrus Shea Butter Body Treatments at Tidepools Spa & Wellness
✨A light morning breakfast for two, followed by a guided morning stretch atop the Great Dune at Cape Kiwanda and a 60-minute private yoga class
✨Self-guided exploration of our nearby waterfalls with a picnic for two
✨An afternoon with our Meridian Chef Team and resident mixologist including to learn how to shuck an oyster and shake a seasonal cocktail
✨A four-course Northwest Chefs’ Tasting menu for two with Oregon wine pairings

Use the code SPRING for 10% off Mon-Thurs bookings until May 21st, you won’t regret it! 🙌🏼

Summer is just around the corner in the Pacific Northwest 🙌🏼

It’s so hard to beat the summer in Washington and Oregon with the mix of coastlines and mountains to explore.

Some of our favorite things about summer in the PNW:

✨Long days — the days in June have one hour more sunlight than San Francisco! In Seattle the sunset is after 9pm with light lingering until close to 10pm

✨Weather — most of the summer is sunny (well deserved after rainy winters) with highs in the mid-70s

✨Mountains — as the snowpack melts, it’s so refreshing to chase the hundreds of alpine lakes. It is also possible to find places to ski year round

✨Coast — the Oregon and Washington coastline is rugged and covered with so many trees, tide pools and unique rock formations

✨Larch season — summer means we’re getting that much closer to the larches (conifer trees that looks like pine trees) turning a bright golden color for a few weeks in the fall. If you haven’t seen this, Google search it!

What are you most excited for this summer?

We love trying to find unique perspectives of popular locations. It helps to have more time at the destination to let your creativity run without feeling rushed. This was our our second time visiting this spot and it was a much different feeling knowing what to expect and to feel relaxed in exploring the unique colors, sand and rock angles.

When is the last time you saw something different than the way most people see it? ✨
