“Have you ever felt like you were carrying the weight of the world on your shoulders? Picture this: a heavy storm clouds your sky, and every gust of wind threatens to knock you down. In those moments, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed and lose sight of hope. But what if I told you that the true challenge isn’t just enduring the storm, but enduring it well? This was the powerful message shared by President Henry B. Eyring on January 3, 2025.”
“Did you know that over 70% of people report feeling stressed about their daily challenges? That’s a staggering number! It’s a reminder that we’re not alone in our struggles. The question we must ask ourselves is: How can we not just endure these trials, but emerge from them stronger and more faithful?”
“I remember a time in my life when I faced what felt like an insurmountable challenge. I was dealing with a personal loss that left me feeling adrift. In those dark days, I turned to my faith for solace. One passage that brought me immense comfort was from the Book of Mormon, where Nephi states, ‘Ye must press forward with a steadfastness in Christ, having a perfect brightness of hope.’ This idea of pressing forward became my guiding principle. I learned that enduring well meant embracing my grief, allowing myself to feel, and then choosing to move forward with hope and love in my heart. I found that each moment of kindness I showed myself and others became a stepping stone towards healing.”
“The gospel teaches us that our trials are not merely obstacles; they are opportunities for growth. The Savior, in John 14:18, reassures us, ‘I will not leave you comfortless.’ This promise resonated deeply with me during my challenges. It’s a testament to His love and presence in our lives, encouraging us to endure trials with grace and steadfastness. When we remember to keep His commandments and look to Him, we can transform our struggles into sacred learning experiences.”
“So, what can we take away from this? Therefore, what? The lesson I learned is that enduring life’s challenges well is a choice we make every day. It’s about maintaining hope and love, even in the most trying times. I invite you to reflect on your own trials and ask yourself: How can I endure this challenge with faith? What can I learn from this experience? Reach out to someone who might be struggling, offer a helping hand, and together, let’s press forward with a perfect brightness of hope.”
