Today we drove past Cartagena to explore the Batería de Castillitos - a defensive anti-naval gun battery base built in the 1930s.

The drive up is very narrow and windy but eventually you reach a carpark and can walk up to the castles. There's hikes in all directions, and other fortress at the end of the Cape (which we didn't hike to because...teenagers!)

The views out to sea are amazing and it's well worth a visit if you're not too far away.

Of course it's free to park and wander around, and plenty of places to sit and eat your picnic!

Día del Cerdo (Day of the pig) is always one of our favourite fiestas! 🐷

They hand out free pork, bread, oranges and beer. You cook the pork on the BBQs provided and eat by the sea! 😍
