Corners of Malaga 😍

We'd never been to Malaga before, only to the airport on our way elsewhere, but it's a really lovely city. We caught the bus from Nerja so only had a day there and could definitely have stayed longer to see more.

Our favourite parts were the old town streets in general, the Picasso Museum and the port.

Back from a great week away on the Costa del Sol!

We based ourself in the beautiful Nerja which is a great location to visit lots of other amazing towns and cities in both the Andalucía and Cadiz regions.

Setenil de las Bodegas...we found it a little underwhelming after seeing amazing photos online!

The town is built into the rocky cliff face, with 2 main streets where the rock forms a 'roof' over the street. Calle Cuevas del Sol and Calle Cuevas de las Sombras (sol = sun and sombra = shade/shadow) are the main streets to head to but both are very short and extremely busy (I waited a long time for photos without many people in!)

The town itself has some great views and it's definitely worth seeing if you're nearby but I wouldn't go there from too far away just for this as there's not really a lot there.

Combined with a trip to Ronda which is about 20 mins away it's worth a look though. A very unique little town.

Yesterday we visited Ronda, on an overcast but very hot day!

Such a beautiful town, the photos just don't do it justice. Some amazing views from the bridge of the surrounding countryside.

The old town and bullring (which I'll share photos of another day) are worth a visit too.

Add Ronda to your list if you haven't been before!

😍 Frigliana!

A pretty Pueblo Blanco about 15 minutes from Nerja. We last visited about 16 years ago and it hasn't changed much!

Definitely worth a visit if you find yourself in the area.

On Sunday we got the tourist train in Elche for the first time 🚂

It's goes all day every day, every 30 mins or so from in front of the tourist information building. €3.50 for adults and €2.50 for children and seniors.

Definitely worth a ride if you're in Elche.

Yesterday we took the boat from Alicante to Tabarca Island and had a great day out 😀

The journey takes around an hour and the sea was so flat it was a really nice ride over. We sat on the open top of the boat while the kids sat in the glass bottom part trying to spot fish 🐟

😎 There are some amazing views along the way as you leave Alicante behind and travel past the coastline of Gran Alacant and Santa Pola.

We haven't been to Tabarca for about 15 years and it's changed quite a lot with lots more restaurants and bars 🏝

We got the boat at 13:15, arrived at 14:15 and spent time having lunch, exploring the island, and admiring the views before getting the 18:15 boat back. Lots more photos of Tabarca Island to come! 📷

Thank you to for the tickets 🎟 We'll definitely be doing this trip again!

🏰 Santa Barbara Castle is one of the largest and oldest fortresses in Spain. Situated 166 metres above sea level it's also one of the main tourist attractions in Alicante city centre.

A weekend exploring Guadix!

We didn't let the Saharan dust storm spoil our trip - we explored the town, visited the cathedral and climbed to the bell tower, and stayed in a cave house (see previous post!)

Definitely worth a visit, though you probably only need one day there and don't go on a Sunday as everything is closed!
