Back in Chile!
•
I have to admit that I didn’t update you guys since quite a few weeks.
So I guess most of you think, that we are still in Costa Rica, but actually we flew to Chile around 5 weeks ago.
•
Luckily we changed our already booked flights in Costa Rica, to fly 3 weeks earlier, because we weren’t sure how long Chile’s borders would stay open, given the rising Covid numbers. And boom, exactly three weeks after we arrived in Santiago, Chile closed its borders.
•
So far we have been busy with visiting ‘s family and doing lots of paperwork in Santiago, to organize our next big step.
•
The whole capital is under quarantine since we’ve been here, so it made everything three times more complicated, but so far we always found a solution.
•
Quarantine means, we can do sportive activities every morning from 6 to 9.
Otherwise we need to get an online permission to go out, for doing groceries or whatever. Every person has two permissions per week, which each lasts 2 hours. Supermarkets won’t let you enter without permissions and the fines for ignoring quarantine or not using masks are high.
•
Actually this is our first, real quarantine, as in Brazil and Costa Rica, the situation has been more relaxed.
•
Right now we are living in the center of Santiago, in an (unused) apartment of a good friend of Isaura, who is lending it to us, as a wedding present.
•
Luckily we are used to be together for 24/7 since the beginning and as always, we are trying to stay positive and make the most out of the situation.
So yesterday we bought some crayons, pencils and sketchbooks, to fill our days with some more creativity.
•
Btw, the photos are from January 2019, when I entered Chile for the second time, cycling the ‘Paso de los Libertadores’ (3200m), from Mendoza to Santiago.
