Another feather added in the cap of Gwalior with a rare feat of 1300 musicians playing Vande Mataram on Tabla on Monday to enter the Guinness World Record for the ‘largest tabla ensemble’ during the ongoing 99th International Tansen Festival in Gwalior

The event was awarded the Guinness World Records certificate on December 25

Gwalior is also designated as the Creative City of Music in the UNESCO Creative Cities Network (UCCN) in November 2023

Jal Mahotsav is a water festival held at Hanuwantiya Island in Khandwa District in Madhya Pradesh, India.

Happening on the banks of the Indira Sagar Dam, it offers various water and adventure activities with luxurious glamping experience. The festival celebrates water sports, cultural performances, and local cuisine, attracting tourists and adventure enthusiasts from around the country.

The first edition of the Kuno Forest Festival kicked off on December 17. The five-day festival organised by Madhya Pradesh Tourism Board was laced with adventure sports, wild life safari and cultural resonance. Tents spread across a sprawling area, packed with all amenities have been placed at the retreat for housing the tourists.

Celebrating the state’s rich natural and cultural heritage, the Madhya Pradesh Tourism Board is launching its first-ever Kuno Forest Festival from 17-21 December 2023. Located in the northern district of Sheopur, Kuno National Park predominantly consists of grasslands and sparse forests.
Sheopur Fort, Dob Kund and ancient caves dating back to the Mughal period will take the visitors back in time. Kuno is inhabited by carnivores such as the Indian Leopard, Indian Wolf, Golden Jackal, Sloth Bear, Indian Fox Striped Hyena and the recently introduced Cheetahs. The herbivores found here are Spotted Deer, Sambhar, Nilgai, Chousingha and Blackbuck among many species of birds and butterflies.

Mian Tansen, a distinguished Indian classical composer and musician, gained prominence as a vocalist and instrumentalist, elevating the plucked rabab. Acknowledged as one of the Navaratnas in Emperor Akbar's court, he earned the title "Mian" for his erudition. Renowned for mimicking animal sounds, Tansen's legends include inducing rain with Raga Megh Malhar and illuminating lamps with the mythical raga Deepak. The annual Tansen Samaroh in Gwalior commemorates his legacy every December.

An evening of cinematic indulgence and cultural marvels! Madhya Pradesh warmly welcomed esteemed guests to a networking dinner showcasing the state's vibrant heritage.

It was attended by prominent personalities like Ms. Neena Gupta, film actor & television director, Ms. Divya Dutta, actor (Bhaag Milkha Bhaag), Mr. Shekhar Kapur, filmmaker & actor (Bandit Queen), Ms. Vani Tripathi Tikoo, actor, producer, and CBFC Board Member, Mr. Nandish Singh Sandhu, TV actor, Ms. Utkarshini Vashishtha, script writer (Gangubai Kathiawadi), Mr. Vijay Sethupathi, actor (Jawan), Ms. Khushbu Sundar, actor (Chinna Vathiyar) and some international film delegates including IFFI Jury members.

54th International Film Festival of India is on its starry path. Principal Secretary, Govt. of Madhya Pradesh and Managing Director of Madhya Pradesh Tourism Board Mr. Sheo Shekhar Shukla interacted with leading national and international film personalities on the sidelines of IFFI Goa.

Panel discussion on promoting film making in Madhya Pradesh was moderated by Mr. Dheer Momaya, Producer and key speakers were Mr. Pankaj Tripathi and Ms. Vani Tripathi Tikoo. In the round table meeting Mr. Shukla talked about the most film friendly state of India which offers a kaleidoscope of possibilities in film making.
