On this day in Flight Crew history:

August 9th 2010; 10:35am JetBlue Airways Flight 1052, from Pittsburgh to New York City landed at John F. Kennedy International Airport.

Steven Slater, a 20 year veteran flight attendant was dealing with passengers whom continually insisted on standing up while the aircraft was taxiing, announced over the plane's public address system that "I've been in this business 20 years. And that's it, I'm done!" He grabbed two beers, activated the emergency exit inflatable slide, proceeded to exit the aircraft down the slide, threw his tie to the tarmac, and hopped on the AirTrain to the JetBlue parking lot.
