Did you know this week is Marvel’s 85th birthday??? There are many exciting Marvel things to do at the parks so let’s talk about them! In Walt Disney World the Guardians of the Galaxy Cosmic Rewind is Disney’s first backwards launched rollercoaster. It’s one of my favorite rides of all time and the perfect way to start any Epcot day! Over at Disneyland, there’s the Avengers Campus which is home to Web Slingers and GOTG Mission Breakout as well as character meet and greets, special performances, and so much more! You can also find Avengers attractions at Disneyland Paris and on many Disney cruise ships during the annual Marvel Day at Sea. Last week we talked about all the amazing new attractions coming to Walt Disney World, but I think it’s high time we talk about the wonderful new stuff coming to Disneyland as well!! Every year D23 brings us thrilling info and I’m so excited for everything that’s on its way to Disneyland. First up is Avengers Campus which is going to DOUBLE in size with two new attractions!! Avengers Infinity Defense and Stark Flight Lab are two brand new rides coming to campus soon. The first ever Coco experience is also coming to DCA as well as first ever audio animatronic of Walt Disney himself. A new Avatar Experience based on Way of the Water is making its debut and to round it out Tiana’s Bayou Adventure is opening November 15. Disneyland is one of the most phenomenal parks in the world and each one of these announcements is another reason to visit soon. Did you see all the amazing announcements from D23 earlier this week??? D23 is the biggest Disney event of the year and it always provides tons of insight into what new attractions are coming to the parks. There are SO many exciting things coming our way so let’s talk about them! 1- Magic Kingdom has announced the largest park expansion yet! Frontierland is getting a remake inspired by Cars that will include two entirely new rides. Magic Kingdom will also be home to the brand new Villains Land inspired by everyone’s favorite spooks as well as getting a new nighttime parade and a pirates themed tavern!
2- Animal Kingdom will be reimagining Dinoland into a Tropical Americas theme that will feature Encanto and Indiana Jones! They’ll also be launching a brand new Zootopia show to the Tree of Life Theater.
3- Hollywood Studios will debut a Monsters Inc land featuring the first ever suspended coaster in the parks!
These fantastic announcements are all at the Walt Disney World Resort in Florida but there are MANY more wonderful attractions coming to Disneyland and the parks around the world! Did you know Elena of Avalor premiered 8 years ago this week? I love meeting Elena in the Princess Fairytale Hall at Magic Kingdom! If you have a child who loves to meet the Disney Princesses the Fairytale Hall is an excellent place to start as you can catch Cinderella, Rapunzel, Tiana and more. You can also catch Ariel back in her grotto in Fantasyland and Jasmine over in Adventureland! Today is Disneyland’s Birthday!!! On July 17th, 1955 thousands of people were able to experience the magic of a Disney park for the very first time. It was by all accounts a disaster. They ran out of food, the asphalt melted in the heat, and a part of Mark Twain’s steamboat even crashed on a visiting senators head! But within the first seven weeks, a million people had visited Main Street USA. Disneyland paved the way for the magic we experience in Disney parks on three different continents now. Today we celebrate almost 70 years of making magic for all who visit and I’m so grateful to get to help some of those guests have the perfect vacation! “To all who come to this happy place: welcome. Have you heard about the exciting new changes coming to Lightning Lane at Walt Disney World? Starting July 24 we will say goodbye to Genie Plus and hello to Lightning Lane single and multi pass! A huge benefit of this new system is the ability for resort guests to purchase and pre plan a full week ahead of their vacation and ticket holders to do this three days before their trip! This new system is truly a blending of Genie Plus and Fast Pass by giving guests the choice to plan ahead and the app will be updated to make all of this quicker and easier for guests. No more 7 am wake ups! That being said, there will certainly be some growing pains that come with the new system and it may be confusing at first. Happy Fourth of July! Have you ever spent the Fourth at a Walt Disney park? There are several special events this Independence Day at Walt Disney World. At Magic Kingdom, “Disney’s Celebrate America!” will be performed in place of Happily Ever After. It’s a very special fireworks show and will be followed up by a dance party in front of Cinderella’s castle during extended hours. Over in Epcot, “Heartbeat of Freedom” fireworks will take place after Luminous with a special finale by Sam Eagle and Spaceship Earth will be lit up like the American flag. Patriotic treats will also be available at the parks as well as unique merch. While Fourth of July at the parks is super fun, it can also be very crowded and hot. Having the best day ever because I just bought tickets to visit Disneyland Paris this fall!!! I’ve been so fortunate to already visit three castles around the world and can’t wait to check off the fourth one this year. Can you believe Tiana’s Bayou Adventure opens in four short weeks? This ride has been my most anticipated of the year and every time I see new footage from it I get even more excited! Tiana’s Bayou Adventure features an entirely new plot line that takes place after the adventures of Princess and the Frog and even includes a BRAND NEW SONG written especially for the ride! It will still include Splash Mountain’s signature 5 story drop, but will also have a fantastic storyline with beautiful animatronics to get us up to the top of the hill. Have you had a chance to meet Asha from Wish yet?? I recently got to meet Asha for the very first time and it was a super magical experience! Asha’s current greeting spot is the entrance to World Showcase at Epcot, and it’s a beautiful pavilion that reflects her home of Rosas. Yesterday was an exciting day at Walt Disney World and I was so fortunate to get to be there to experience it!!! Yesterday marked the 35th anniversary of Hollywood Studios. The day was commemorated with a ceremony in the morning and lots of special merch! I always love collecting the limited edition holiday pins and this Fantasmic 35th pin is one of my favorites yet! I then park hopped over to Epcot to check out the new Annual Passholder lounge and get the new AP Stitch magnet. The lounge was beautiful and because it’s in Morocco, Passholders even got a chance to meet Genie! One of the amazing things about Disney is all of the special events they do to make the everyday magical, but without a travel agent you might never even know they were happening. Have you found the hidden Pascals in Fantasyland? There are 10 little lizards hidden around the Tangled bathrooms in the Magic Kingdom! These small green friends also happen to be located directly next to a charging station with tons of tables and chairs. Easter at Walt Disney World is a very magical day!!!! I spent this Easter in the Magic Kingdom and got to watch a special Easter Parade as well as buy some unique merch and meet the Bunny himself! I also visited the Contemporary, Grand Floridian, and Yacht and Beach Clubs where Disney bakers have created the most amazing chocolate eggs imaginable!!! They’re truly magnificent to behold and just another example of why staying on property is the best way to do Disney. Did you know that on holidays like Easter, St Patrick’s Day, and Valentine’s Day the Frontier Trading Post is the only place to get limited editions holiday themed pins? I visited Epcot recently and had an amazing time celebrating this year’s Flower and Garden festival!!! There are so many beautiful topiaries as well as special merch featuring everyone’s favorite little orange bird and new treats and drinks! My favorite topiary this year was probably the Figment display and I got to meet the imaginative purple dragon in person as well! I spent St Patrick’s Day at Magic Kingdom earlier this week and had an awesome time admiring everyone’s green spirit as well as seeing some special merch and treats!!! Earlier this week I visited Hollywood Studios and decided to see how much I could get done in only six hours! Want to hear my must hit itinerary?? Happy Lunar New Year!!! Today is the first day of the Year of the Dragon and Disney parks around the world are celebrating!! There are so many exciting things coming to Disney World in 2024 that there’s truly never been a better time to book a trip! My top attraction to watch for this year is the reopening of Splash Mountain with a brand new Princess and the Frog theme. Travel through the Bayou with Tiana, Louis, Naveen and more friends and listen to the sounds of New Orleans in a one of a kind Mardi Gras Celebration! Another attraction I can’t wait for opening this year is the reimagined Little Mermaid show opening at Hollywood Studios. Featuring new effects, sets, and more this show is one to watch for sure! Here’s a Disney insider hack of the day! Don’t want to sit out to get a good spot for fireworks or a parade? Each Disney park has restaurants where you can make a reservation in advance and get an excellent view without having to sit and hold your spot! Getting a great space can be stressful and it can cut into valuable park time, and these restaurants save you the trouble. For example, these videos were taken at La Hacienda de San Angel outside of the Mexico pavilion and it was an amazing view of Harmonious, the Epcot nighttime spectacular. We made our reservation for about thirty minutes before showtime and then could sit back and relax while eating great food and watching the show.
