Over 105 years ago William Bell, Sr. opened Bell’s Seed Store on Gillespie St. in Downtown Fayetteville. He operated the business alone until his son William joined him in the 1950’s. In 1957 they moved the store to our current location on East Russell St. Many of you remember William Jr. and called him Billy. We are proud to be part of a long legacy of serving customers in Fayetteville.

Hay Street Kitchen & Rooftop was the perfect place for a relaxing brunch today. 70 degree weather, amazing food (get the grits!) and fantastic service. If only they were open when I was writing the book!

In fact, since Fowler’s closed just before the book published , I declare Hay Street Kitchen and Rooftop one of the club .

Also, it is certainly on the list for a 2nd edition.

Will you be there? I will!
