An open letter to Delta

Dear Delta,

First, I want to say I’m very sorry and I hope you will forgive me for what I am about to tell you. I’ve been unfaithful. I was weak and gave into the temptation of another airline that seduced me with a low price. It started innocently enough. It was a last-minute trip and your price was a little higher than I usually pay, so I thought I’d just look at some other airlines. Really, I had no intention to get on someone else’s airplane, so I didn’t think there would be any harm in looking. That was my downfall. I saw a low price and made the biggest mistake I have ever made since we started our relationship. It turned out to be a horrible experience. I was led on and deceived into believing I could have the same level of service I have become used to from you at a much lower price.

I was wrong on so many levels! I realize now all the things that I took for granted in our relationship. The big things that we had worked up to like free checked bags, but also the little things that I didn’t realize were so important. Like water and soft drinks, or cookies! Oh, I paid dearly for my decision. Not just with money either. I paid with the pain and agony of a seat that DID NOT EVEN RECLINE, NOT EVEN A LITTLE! Multiple delays, gate changes and an oversold flight too! By time I was done paying for all the “extras”, my flight of unfaithfulness cost me more money than if I had remained true to our partnership and it was horrible, just horrible.

I realize through this experience how much I truly treasure our relationship and I am asking for your forgiveness. I did not appreciate what we had. I took it for granted, but I have gained new perspective. You have always provided excellent customer service and rewarded my loyalty without question. Please know I will never again risk our relationship by even looking at another airline.

Rosemead, CA - The sculpture consists of an iron beam pulled from the rubble of the World Trade Center held up by two stainless steel hands. The hands holding it up are constructed from 2,976 individually crafted stainless steel doves - each representing a victim of the attacks.

Todays trip brought us to

We heard the 192 year old Durgin Park restaurant would be closing it's doors on January 12th so that's where we decided to have lunch

Then we hopped on the T to the Samuel Adams Brewery for a tour

We had no idea we would be celebrating another last of sorts

Turns out we were the last tour for our awesome tour guide, Charlotte, who is leaving Samuel Adams to pursue a career in the world of wine
