Registration opened today (and is already full!) for next January’s marathon weekend! It truly is amazing that this weekend is almost a year in the making from the time you register, put in the months of training, and finally get a chance to cross that starting line!

Who’s in for next year’s race weekend? Now’s the time to get your room and tickets squared away! Just a reminder that packages are just a $200 deposit and any future discounts can be applied to eligible reservations if they pop up!

Congrats to all the runners who just wrapped up the Princess race weekend! Can’t believe it’s been 6 weeks since the Disney marathon and still a bit in shock that we ran 26.2 miles! If you have ever thought of running or walking a race and want an experience you’ll never forget, runDisney could be for you! From the characters to running through the parks to the special touch of Disney magic, it really does make those miles magical!

Virtual queues for Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind at Epcot and Tiana’s Bayou Adventure in Magic Kingdom will come to an end beginning February 25! Guests will have the option to wait in a standby group or purchase access via a Lightning Lane.

How do you feel about these changes? With spring break just around the corner, it will be interesting to see how this impacts wait times for these rides!

“We’re going to Disney World!” I love that regardless of who plays in the Super Bowl, the winning team still has a tradition of a trip down to Disney to celebrate. It truly is a place where magic is real and dreams come true!

We had a few days of unseasonably warm weather for Georgia, but it’s back to rainy, cold February the rest of this week which certainly has me dreaming of sunny Florida! If you’re trying to plan your next warm weather escape, getting a head start booking your summer vacation, or are trying to nail down spring break plans, shoot me a note if Disney is on your list! 🤗

Finish line Friday - we ran the Disney World Marathon! ✨ it still feels so surreal that after months and hundreds of training miles, we crossed the finish line of our first marathon at the most magical place on earth! Our first ever half marathon was at Disney almost 5 years ago to the day of the marathon, so it truly felt like a full circle moment.

If you’ve ever wondered about a race, Disney offers several in person races throughout the year ranging from a 5K to a full marathon. Registration opens months in advance, so be ready if you want to sign up! I love the energy of the Disney races with the character stops and getting to run through the parks.

Our training focused on building our strength and endurance, and the marathon was a celebration of all of that hard work. Aside from a few “hills” (overpasses) in the first third of the race, the course was flat. Disney did a great job with course support through hydration/fuel stations, medical aid, and entertainment. It truly was a magical run, even with the cold 4:30 AM start time!

Staying on property was a lifesaver this trip - we rode the bus to the start line with no issues, our family took a Minnie van to the finish line to watch us, and we all walked back through Epcot to the Skyliner to get back to our resort!

Throwback to riding Tower of Terror with all of our friends!! 🤪 It was crazy to have an elevator just to the two of us! On special nights like the Jollywood Party that we attended, park capacity is limited and many rides are walk on! More to come on all the fun we had at Jollywood Nights and the rest of our quick 24 hour visit to Disney World!

It’s hard to believe this picture was taken almost a year ago! Both kids have grown so much, and it’s hard to imagine what the next trip to Disney will look with them. We’re not quite at counting down the days yet, but we love tracking their heights at home to see what new rides we can ride next time.

“Why take your kids to Disney World at an age when they won’t even remember the trip?”

Traveling with little ones (regardless of destination) is no easy feat! And even at a place like Disney World that is designed for kids and families, you aren’t immune from temper tantrums, overtired babies, or picky eaters. So why even take your babies or toddlers to Disney?

Here are my top 3 reasons why you should book that trip to Disney now instead of in 5 years!

1. Kids under 3 are free! Tickets can easily become the most expensive part of your trip (and one where it’s rare to find discounts), so this is a huge cost savings. The free under 3 rule also applies for buffet meals - your little ones can eat off your plate free of charge. An incredible benefit for some of those costly character buffet options!

2. There are over 50 rides with no age/height limit! Combine that with other attractions, character interactions, and shows, and there truly is a lot for your little ones to do! Each park is also equipped with a baby care center that is a great place to escape the Florida heat or take a break from all the park stimulation.

3. They might not remember the trip but you will. Seeing the magic in their eyes as they meet their favorite characters, eat all of the Mickey shaped treats, or go for their first ride on the carousel, Dumbo, or the Barnstormer brings you back to a place of childhood excitement as well. We love revisiting our photo books of past trips to keep the memories alive even once we are back home again.

Tonight’s super blue moon seems like an appropriate time to highlight Spaceship Earth and Epcot! I love some of the kid friendly attractions that have been added to Epcot over the past few years (Frozen Ever After and Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure), but to me, nothing beats strolling around World Showcase and ending your evening seeing Spaceship Earth all lit up! There’s a sense of nostalgia that comes with the “giant golf ball,” and it’s a park that I continue to appreciate more and more as it evolves!

Don’t forget about the promotions currently running at Disney World - select dates have free Park Hopper ticket upgrades with a Disney resort package and there are some great resort room only discounts available!

Big news coming from this past weekend’s D23 event for Disney! The park updates are always my favorite part, and there are some exciting expansions on the horizon.

🏰 Magic Kingdom: Frontierland expansion to include 2 Cars rides, Villains Land with 2 major attractions, a new nighttime parade opening summer 2025, Disney Starlight, and a Pirates of the Caribbean themed tavern also opening in 2025

🌐 Epcot: Test Track to reopen in 2025 alongside a new Spaceship Earth lounge

🎢 Hollywood Studios: Monsters Inc. Land with a new suspended rollercoaster and updates to Smugglers Run to include Mando and Grogu

🌳 Animal Kingdom: Tropical Americas to replace Dinoland USA in 2027 featuring an Encanto ride and Indiana Jones ride (RIP Dinosaur) and a new Zootopia themed show coming to the Tree of Life theater next winter

🚨Big news for Genie+ starting July 24!

Genie+ will become “Lightning Lane Multi Pass” which allows you to make 3 Lightning Lane reservations in advance. Guests staying at a Disney resort can book these 7 days in advance for the entirety of your stay. Magic Kingdom, Epcot, and Hollywood Studios have 2 tiers of Lightning Lane options, so you’ll have to make a decision among some of the “bigger” rides. For example, at Epcot you can select only select one amongst Frozen Ever After, Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure, or Soarin’ as the top tier rides. Your other 2 selections will come from the remaining eligible “Lighting Lane Multi Pass” options.

Once you redeem a selection, you can choose another multi pass experience from either tier or you could choose a multi pass experience in a different theme park if you have Park Hopper.

“Lightning Lane Single Pass” will work the same way as the current Individual Lightning Lanes, with guests able to make up to 2 selections per day for the most in demand attractions.

Pricing is subject to change and has yet to be announced - stay tuned for when these changes go live on July 24!

How do you feel about this announcement? To me, I love that we finally have a way to pre-plan at least a few rides for each day, much like the old FastPass+ system, but I am still disappointed that it is a “pay to play” system.
