As this year draws to a close, the Authentic Travel Africa Team are filled with gratitude for the incredible support of our Clients, Partners and Friends, and for the many experiences and adventures we've had this year, travelling from Cape Town to the Masai Mara and everywhere in between. We're taking a short break and will be back in early January, refreshed, re-energised and ready to take on 2025!

There's truly nothing like spending a few days in the African bush to rejuvenate and revive one's spirits, something the Walthers Team discovered once again last week. A time to reconnect, with so many laughs, amazing food, and plenty of surprises and spoils was just what we needed to end off an incredibly busy year! Thanks to the Kapama River Lodge team for reminding us what it's like to be our clients!

We often get asked “WHEN to go on Safari?
In spring and summer, brief afternoon rain showers kick start birthing time, with baby animals and the cute factor in abundance. Migratory birds return from the North and the summer landscape is lush and colourful.
The dry winter season mean lots of sunshine, with cool mornings quickly warming into the equivalent of a European summer day. One can see deeper into the bush as grass is low and animals congregate around water holes.
So there really is no bad time for safari, each season has its own unforgettable highlights and never disappoints.
