Here are a few summer travels tips!

1. Arrive at least 2 hrs b/f your flight
--There have been horror stories about long security lines. This is due to staff shortages, the heavy volume of summer travel, and flight cancellations. For domestic flights arrive at least two hours early to make sure you can get through the lines and to your gate. Internationally, make it three hours! Enjoy airport lounges, restaurants & shopping while to kill the extra time.

2. Pack only carryons
--If you your flight is cancelled or delayed, you'll still have access to all your stuff. Also, you won't have to worry about your luggage being lost or sent to the wrong location. Also, you'll avoid having to pay for bags with most airlines.

3. Download airline phone app
--All savvy travelers do this so that you can keep up with all flight updates. Sometimes you'll get notified that a flight is delayed or cancelled or a gate change has occurred. Never miss any important information with these notifications. Also, you can do cool things like change your seat assignment and see the seating layout with most airlines. Also you might be able to chat with an agent if you have issues. Always sign up for their reward club and keep track of your mileage progress. Make booking and managing flights a breeze with most airline apps.

4. Take morning & nonstop flights
--If you hate bumpy flights like me, you'll love morning flights because there is typically much less turbulence for the first flights in the morning in undisturbed air. Also, the likelihood of cancellation without same day rebooking goes up the later it gets in the day. Flying non stop means you'll have less flights to catch and thus less risk of delay & cancellation. Nothing is worse than being stuck in the location where your flight is connecting to the actual destination...you can't go home & you're not quit there yet. Booking nonstop alleviates this unnecessary headache possibility.
