Ottinene beach, is a scenic beach in coastal Karnataka, popular because of an elevated cliff that offers captivating views of the beach below.

Ottinene Beach: The beach and backwaters is a scenic beach where the Byndoor river enters Arabian sea. The shallow beach area, with hills in one corner is safe, scenic and photogenic. Sunset view is worth waiting for.

Ksh*tija Nesara Dhama: Ksh*tija Nesara dhama is a small park overlooking the beach. It has a few cottages for stay, a view point, large grassland and a hiking trail down the woods towards the beach.

Someshwara Temple: a small but popular Shiva temple right next to Ottinene beach.

'Tulunadan Kalaripayattu', existed in the middle ages in the Tulunadu region of Karnataka, and is considered the most advanced and supreme form of Kalari tradition.

Historically, Tulunadu lies between the Gangavalli River (Uttara Kannada district) in the North and the Chandragiri River (Kasaragod district) in the south.

Sri Bairagi Ganapathi Temple in Chowlikere, Barkur, is a 1000 year old temple built by the Cholas.

In 1010 AD Prince Rajendra Chola, son of Chola Emperor Raja Raja Chola captured Barkur, it was during this time the temple was built.

However by 1050 the Alupa's had regained control of the region from the Cholas.

Barkur was the ancient capital of "Alvakheda Arusasira" also known as 'Tulunad', ruled by The Alupa Dynasty.

The Alupas had built 365 temples in and around Barkur.

Story goes, The King would visit a different temple each day and on 365th day he would visit the oldest temple "Panchalingeshwara" followed by car festival / town fair on that day.

Today only 30 of these temples have survived.

Sheshnaag, the five-headed snake, spread his head to protect baby Krishna from the rain.

Parashurama Theme Park, in Karkala, Udupi, is a ₹10 Cr project which will be open for public viewing buy the end of this year.

Born in Kundapura, Keladi Chennamma became the queen of Keladi Nayaka Dynasty in 1677 with Ikkeri as their capital.

She gave shelter to Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj's son Rajaram who was escaping the Mughal Army.

She then fought Aurangzeb forces bravely.

Karnad Sadashiva Rao ( KS Rao)🙏

Born in a wealthy family in Mangalore, he spent all his wealth in the Independence movement and to help the Poor.

He died penniless without having money to even perform his last rites.

Sadashivanagar in Bengaluru is named after him.

Shivabagh in Kadri, Mangalore, was a 150 year old Heritage Bunglow, where Karnad Sadashiva Rao was raised, and was also the location for the farewell gathering of the then Governor of Madras Presidency Lord Ampthill.
