Hanoi is chaos embodied. Narrow roads with even narrower alleys, all worth exploring. Traffic has no discernible rules, yet also no accidents. French and Vietnamese architecture mingle, and an ever-present light mist coats the city in humidity. Freshly baked bánh mì, marinated grilled pork, and incense pervade the air. On weekends, the city comes alive as traffic is blocked off to create a pedestrian zone around Hoan Kiem Lake and the French District.
