Saguaro National Park near Tucson was designated in 1994 to help protect the Saguaro species of cacti as well as its habitat. Saguaros have a rather long lifespan, often surpassing 150 years; have white flowers and red-hued, edible fruit; and, may reach a height up to 50 feet.
