INTRODUCING THE KANE COUNTY COUGARS 2.0

COUGARS TO MOVE TO MLB PARTNER LEAGUE IN 2021

GENEVA, Ill. – In our high-tech world, the 2.0 designation represents a new better version of something. We are delighted to introduce you to the Kane County Cougars 2.0. For our first 30 seasons we were under the Minor League Baseball umbrella, affiliated with one Major League Baseball (MLB) team where our players could progress on to that one team. With the introduction of the Kane County Cougars 2.0 we will now be under the Major League Baseball umbrella joining one of their new partner leagues where our players will now have an opportunity to progress to any of the 30 MLB teams. Now under Kane County Cougars 2.0, no matter which of the 30 MLB teams is your favorite, our players have a chance to progress on to that MLB team. More details regarding which MLB Partner League we will join will be coming soon.

The Cougars began play in Geneva in 1991, setting attendance records along the way. Only once in our history did we finish outside the top three in attendance in the 16 team Midwest League. In 2015 Kane County became the first Class A team in history to attract 11 million fans.

“It’s been our pleasure to provide a great atmosphere to develop young players for six different Major League organizations over the past 30 years. Beautiful Northwestern Medicine Field provided a central location for Midwest League travel, proximity to two major airports and a passionate fan base which have served these clubs well. We are grateful for the opportunity to positively impact the game of baseball over the past three decades,” said Cougars Vice President and General Manager Curtis Haug. “We look forward to continuing to provide a quality baseball experience for our fans as well as the awesome, family-friendly, affordable entertainment, in a safe and secure environment, that they have become accustomed to over the past 30 years.”

“We will also continue to contribute to our local communities both through the charitable efforts of the Kane County Cougars Baseball Foundation and by providing employment opportunities for hundreds of local residents each summer,” added Cougars owner Dr. Bob Froehlich.

As usual C & W Market offers a delicious selection of artisan cheeses as well as cheese spreads, string cheese and cheese curds. This is the time of the year for British Bandaged Wrapped Farmhouse Cheddar and Stilton, the classic British Blue Cheese.

Salumé, Market Bacon, olives and fresh baked bread is available. We now carry Sourdough Rounds - small and large.

Farm fresh certified organic eggs are for sale. Freshly churned sweet cream butter and ricotta cheese, both made in house is available as supply lasts. Advanced orders are always welcome.

During December we are pleased to offer vat pasteurized heavy organic cream. Try some, it’s remarkable and will enhance your recipes calling for heavy cream. Yum yum!!

The Market will gladly organize a cheese and charcuterie board or boards for your entertaining. Please give us a day or 2 notice.
