Macchu Picchu- one of my most memorable journeys. Our guides made sure the first time we saw it was as the sun rose over the ancient city. There are a few ways to get there. No matter where you go, eating the local delicious fresh foods should be something you look forward to. But it’s not uncommon to come back from your vacations 3 to 8 pounds heavier than when you left. That can make reentry even harder. Here are a couple tips and tricks to live your very best life while also watching your waistline. 1. Always start your day with a healthy protein & fiber rich breakfast. Trying to save calories for later in the day can set ourselves up for a binge. Let’s get that blood sugar stabilized and start our day feeling energetic and fueled. 2. Try to incorporate fruits and veggies in every single meal. It doesn’t have to be a salad, this can be fun! The fresh fruit and veggies at resorts and tropical locations can be show stoppers. 3. Look for way to add fun activity. Instead of jumping on a tour bus, walk your destination. You’ll get to know the area better. Instead of laying on the beach, take a stroll or play beach volleyball. It doesn’t have to be strenuous but keeping the body is a good thing. 4. Plan ahead. Are you going to enjoy a Michelin star restaurant? Then be a little more mindful during the day. Splurge when it’s worth it, but not every meal needs to be a splurge. Enjoy vacation, but don’t use it as a reason to take a break from the healthy habits you’ve established.
