Did you know that today is National Popcorn Day? 🍿
While I often think of going to the movies when I hear popcorn, I also think of Disney! In fact, the Disney parks have been selling popcorn since they opened Disneyland in 1955. Today it is estimated that more than 500,000 pounds of popcorn are sold at Disneyland Resort each year and about 385,000 pounds a year being sold at Walt Disney World Resort! And it’s not just the traditional buttered popcorn, they also sell Werther’s Original-coated popcorn at Karamell-Küche in the Germany pavilion at EPCOT, cheesy cheddar, a special blend at Star Wars: Galaxy’s edge called Outpost Mix, and you can even make your own blend at the confectionary in Magic Kingdom. Check out my video below showing all the options available on my last trip to Walt Disney World at the confectionary when I had my popcorn blend made!

It’s #TravelTipTuesday and my travel tip today is for my Disney lovers out there who love a good souvenir. One of my favorite things to do is picking out a Pearl at Epcot in the Japan pavilion. This is just a quick snapshot of my experience but it is so much fun! After you pick your pearl, a ceremony with drums and singing happens and it is such a neat cultural learning opportunity.
