How to recognise real Parmigiano Reggiano?⁣

✅ Look for the pin-dot ‘Parmigiano Reggiano’ wording on the rind and the fire-branded DOP (protected designation of origin) certification⁣
⁣
✅ Check the list of ingredients. Parmigiano only has three of them: milk, salt and rennet⁣
⁣
✅ Make sure the colour is straw-yellow. It can be softer or darker, depending on the aging time, but never white⁣
⁣
✅ Trust your sense of smell and taste. Parmigiano has a distintive fragrance with vegetal and floreal notes and a strong and intense flavour

📝 According to the legend, it happened one night, when Venus and Zeus, involved in a battle between Bologna and Modena, arrive at a tavern in Castelfranco Emilia, a small town on the outskirts of Bologna. ⁣
After eating a hearty dinner and becoming slightly drunk, they decide to share a bedroom.⁣
⁣
🧑‍🍳 The innkeeper, captivated by the beauty of Venus, can't keep from spying on her through the keyhole of the bedroom door. ⁣
⁣
🔎 However, all he can see through it is the naval of Venus. This vision leaves him spellbound – so much so that he immediately rushes to the kitchen and creates a pasta inspired by Venus' navel…⁣

📝 Torre Prendiparte (Prendiparte Tower), also known as Coronata Tower, was built in the 12th century by Prendiparte family as a defensive structure.. ⁣
⁣
🕯️With its 60 meters high, it's the second one in terms of height after the Asinelli Tower. ⁣
Thanks to recent restoration works, the 12 floors of the structure are now totally accessible. This tower, along with the others is one of the oldest buildings still preserved. ⁣
⁣
🔍Contended for centuries, in the XVI cent, it became Church's propriety, used as an extension of the Archdiocesan Seminary first and, later, as the Archbishop's prison for crimes against religion.
Now it's a unique and fascinating guest house.⁣
