This place is truly magical. Drove from Texas and it was very nice drive. The house is much larger than it seems and the layout is perfect with plenty of space to relax. It snowed for 2 days while there and had no problem getting to/from the house even with snow on the ground. Having the garage was nice and saved us from having to clean the snow off the car. Salida is about 20-25 minute drive and its a lovely town with bakery, thrift stores with great finds and supermarket. We found all we needed to cook in the house. There is an alpaca farm nearby and lots of land to explore. We went snowshoeing on the property and the kids loved playing CDs and watching DVDs. It was fun watching them learn how to use the technology from our time. There are also plenty of board games to choose from. The host was great with communication and answered all our questions right away. We 100% recommend this place. This was our 5th stay in CO and my teens voted this their favorite place.

I know Todd had no control over the perfect weather or the spectacular way the sunlight hits the mountains or the therapeutic sound of the creek below the property, but each of those things is a plus with this home. Equally important are the things that definitely were in his control: the turnkey access, the great communication, how well the home was stocked with cooking utensils and the perfect location. We felt comfortably isolated, and yet, had convenient access to both Buena Vista and Salida. The rooms are large and comfortable. Three couples could easily and comfortably stay here. My husband was able to fish as much as he wanted AND watch all the football he wanted. Great library so I was happy (we have similar tastes. I left behind a book I brought). Fabulous laundry room and great mudroom. All very convenient. Lastly, our impression is he is just a spectacularly nice guy which matters so much these days and especially when the quality of your vacation depends on the quality of your accommodations . The most beautiful setting we have ever stayed in! Breathtaking views from every room. So secluded on the 12 acres of pines you feel like you are in your own world! Beds and furniture very comfortable. Very clean house. Everything you can think of that you will need is provided and then some. House is very tastefully furnished. Loved having a garage. Our two little dogs were right at home. Mornings spent out on the deck were a great way to start the day and evenings out there were so relaxing. Todd is the most accommodating host, quick to reply and very helpful. Not too far from Salida which was a new town for us to explore and one we enjoyed very much. Salida has a delicious bakery called The Little Red Hen and we not only enjoyed their bread with our homemade dinner but absolutely loved their warm cinnamon rolls that we ate by the river in the park. You will be so happy you chose to stay in this house for your vacation.
