THERE ARE BLUE ZONES IN AFRICA

I’m sure there are Blue Zones in Africa, but no one bothered to look. I just finished watching the Netflix documentary, Live to 100: Secrets of the Blues Zones (see the trailer in the comments). It was absolutely fascinating, but at the same time, a no brainer. At one point the narrator said, if you are fat and sick in America, it’s not your fault, it’s just the way society is set up. Meanwhile, there are places on earth where the elderly live and do purposeful work (not Walmart) until they die because it keeps them vibrant, not to supplement social security. The food, the philosophy, the governments - it is refreshing to know that peaceful, meaningful and deeply rooted living exists in the world.
But not one country in Africa made the list. I find that hard to believe, but many of the characteristics that create a Blues Zone do exist in Africa. One that stands out to me is purposeful work that keeps you active. I’m not talking about sitting behind a desk pushing papers and growing a fat stomach. I’m talking about work that allows you to soak up Vitamin D, keep your bones strong from walking, build strength from lifting. I see the fishing communities in Ghana as Blues Zones. If you watch the fishermen in the early morning, you’ll see they don’t need a gym.

Ntonso is the homeland of adinkra cloth and the only place in Ghana where traditional adinkra is made locally from scratch. Ntonso is still Ghana’s biggest producer of adinkra, a cloth famed for its symbols and proverbial wisdom. The cloth was originally worn only for funerals in the Ashanti Region and produced mainly in black, brown and red. These days, however, it is made in all colors and used throughout Ghana. Ntonso has a new visitor center and lays on official guided tours. On a walking tour, visitors can engage in the various stages of adinkra production, such as dye preparation, cloth dyeing, adinkra stamping, and embroidery of stamped cloth.

18/03/2023

The Twa People (also known as the pygmies because of their small size) are known as the oldest people on the planet and their history stretches back thousands and thousands of years (some researchers even say millions of years). The Egyptians admired the Twa people because of their wisdom & knowledge...The Twa people traveled the world and were masters at healing, and making clothes & shoes.

Some of the Twa people even migrated to Ireland and distinguished their Sacred Centers, their knowledge of the herbs, and their relationship to nature. Their signs and symbols were upon their clothing, headdress, and their hair that looked like "snakes". It is also said that they also wore a fez or headcover that depicted the symbol known as a Uraeus or cobra raised to strike, which is the same snake image you see worn by the Kings & Queens in ancient Kemet (Egypt.)

This culture was seen as "magical" by other people... But as years went by, it is said that the Romans summoned a guy by the name of Saint Patrick to Ireland to push Christianity. But after seeing the rich culture and spirituality of The Twa People, it is said that Saint Patrick resorted to killing and running the Twa people out of Ireland. And For his decision to do so, he got called the "Saint" that ran out the snakes...Well since Ireland has no record of snakes after the Ice Age, we all know who he ran out...Be Enlightened and Let's celebrate the the rich history of the Twa people. THE GA TRIBE

Around 2 million people, or 8% of Ghana’s population, are Ga-Adangbe. They primarily reside in Accra, Tema, La, Ningo, Kpone, Prampram, and Ada in the Greater Accra region’s southeast coastal area. Most Ga people are a mixture of traditionalists, Christians, and Muslims.

The huge Homowo festival, which roughly translates as “mocking hunger,” is observed by the Ga people. This celebration honours the end of a severe famine that occurred hundreds of years ago. Asafotu, a yearly festival honouring warriors and observed by the Ada people, is another well-known Ga celebration. The Ga people are noted for their ornate funeral festivities, during which unique coffins that represent a person’s occupation or status in the community are built. The Ga tribe is one of the famous tribes in Ghana.
